Hey guys I'm in my 2nd year of college with a gpa of only 3.4, I'm hispanic (only saying cause maybe being a minority could help my situation) am I eligible for any kind of scholarship? I really want to get into UT but its way too expensive. I've been told that they're plenty of scholarships out there, just need to find them and apply for as many as possible, is getting an academic scholarship from UT a real long shot?
I think UT is pretty good about financial aid, but it's a public school, and you will have to be persistent with the financial aid office. Also, aid is very case-dependent, depending on your income, merits, and ethnicity. Being hispanic is good, because there are scholarships that are specific to ethnicities. A 3.4 is probably around the lower end of UT transfer-admits' GPA, so an academic scholarship may be hard to come by.
I remember signing up for this. There was so much crap you had to fill out but there were quite a few scholarships they claimed to offer. If I was looking, I would definitely check it out again.
Where do you go to school now that is so much cheaper? Isnt UT the same cost tuition wise as UH and other public schools?
