Looks like Big Ben will at least be suspended or even be traded.

Leftwich was an excellent backup for the Steelers last year and kind of got a raw deal this year in Tampa Bay. Definitely a smart move for the Steelers regardless of whether or not Ben gets suspended.

guy isn't worth a 7th rounder. so that means that tampa gave him a multi-year deal??

and why won't anybody let jeff garcia play?

Cheap stopgap to compete for the starting job while Big Ben is suspended. He knows the offense. I'd have more faith in Leftwich managing a win or two than Dennis Dixon.

You and me both. I like Dixon but the moment Baltimore threw a zone at him he had no idea what to do. At least Leftwich has experience and can handle the various looks a QB see's throughout a game.
