I heard that the league schedules will be released on Thursday.

Should we predict who and where the Rockets will play on opening night?

I'm gonna say at home vs the Clippers.

Woo Hoo! Thanks for the info. It will be interesting to see the schedule. And I wonder how far after the schedule will be released we will know the TV schdule with ESPN/TNT?

I bet TNT has added a couple more game with the Rockets than they would have before drafting Yao Ming. Let's face it, there was NO positive buzz about the Rockets after last season.

I thought so too - everything except for NBA on, what is it?, CBS now? Damn, that reminds me of the days with Brent Musburger in the 80's - Philly, LA, New York and Boston were on like every Sunday. :) The one thing that won't be done is the local TV schedule. The Rockets are still working on finishing their TV deal for the upcoming season.

TNT or TBS do not carry the games any more... Its something stupid where I dont think there are any local games, just games on ESPN and ESPN2 like Wed., Thurs., Fri, and maybe Sat. or Sun. ABC will carry some games and a bunch of playoff games. We better be on a couple games vs. the Lakers...

TNT still will have the NBA, as will ESPN and ABC. NBC is the one out in the cold.

for some reason, I want to say that TNT will only have All-Star weekend. I could be wrong, though.

I'm looking forward to seeing what ESPN will do with the NBA. I've always felt like they kind of ignored it somewhat since it was the only major sport they didn't have.

but I will miss the ernie/jet/chuck show.

It's my understanding TNT will still have some games but probably not to the extent that they do now.

What...no predictions of who and where the Rockets will open with??? C'mon, it'll be fun, sorta...

I'm pretty sure TNT has one doubleheader per week.

I'm predicting Rockets Vs. Dallas AT Dallas

Here's the breakdown for the league pass deprived......
    • Wednesday- ESPN
    • Thursday- TNT (doubleheader)
    • Friday- ESPN
    • Saturday or Sunday afternoon games- ESPN2
    • Sunday afternoon games later on in the season- ABC
    • TNT keeps allstar game festivities coverage (ie: dunk contest, rookie game, etc.)
    • ABC covers the actual allstar game

    Prediction- Rockets vs New Orleans

I believe Ernie, Charles, & Kenny willl still have inside the NBA after the TNT Thursday night games.

I say Rocks v. Lakers at the CC. Ming's first NBA game has to be at home & its has to be against Shaq right?:)

At home versus the Lakers. The league wants to see the much hyped "Ming-Shaq" matchup, and gives us a home game because he just got to town. Then I predict the last game of the season will be against the Lakers, too, so we can all see Ming's improvements :D

I wouldn't think they would have the World Champion Lakers open on the road but who knows? Then again, it could be the Lakers 2nd game of the season.
