Early October for single game tickets. We'll announce an exact date before too long. There is a strong chance that certain games (Miami, for example) will sell out via mini-packs before the single game on sale date. We won't know that for sure until after mini-packs have been selling for a while (they don't go on sale until September). But ... be forewarned. Our base of full season ticket holders will be up this year. And we expect even higher mini-plan sales than last year, even though we were one of the best teams in the league last year in terms of mini-plans. All that adds up to ... fewer individual tickets for sale for some of the biggest games. We were the only team in the league to have a double digit percentage increase in attendance each of the last two years -- and we expect the momentum to continue, especially with the addition of Tracy McGrady. Tim
How many sellouts last year and how many are you expecting next year Tim? I can't wait to see the Rockets regularly playing in front of a sold out arena again. If we have another double digit increase, we're looking at something like 35% increase over 3 years, which is tremendous.
I already got my ticket information in the mail for all ticket packages. I am going for a 14 game pack but cant call in till next month. I soooo tempted to get a half season ticket package but ummmm, im poor.
its not in that link but: http://www.nola.com/sports/t-p/index.ssf?/base/sports-11/1090746648107460.xml it says this week...i think it is tommorow, just 4 days delay..from the 25th
We had 17 sellouts last year, out of 41 home games. We also had 6 games where there were fewer than 1000 seats left ("near sellouts"). The year prior (02-03) we had 10, and in each of the two years before that (01-02 and 00-01) we had 3. We should sell out more than half our games. How much more than half ... that depends on how hard we work and how good that work is. But we set some pretty aggressive goals for this season, and so far we've been beating them. And since someone else asked -- last year attendance was up 13% (3rd in league) and the year before that 17% (2nd in league). Over the two years, we're up 32%. We have a lot more work to do, but that's something our staff takes some pride in. They should. The only teams that had faster single season increases than us were New Orleans two years ago, when they relocated from Charlotte, and Cleveland and Denver last year. Our focus is looking forward, though ... we want to keep working towards that 41-sellout number. Tim
Wow, that sounds great. Assumign those "near sellouts" are taken care of, that's already up to 23, which is more than half. So it's pretty safe to assume we'll be around 25 sellouts next year, and we've always been a good draw on the road, and now we have T-Mac. The Rockets are really beginning to take a healthy chunk of the spotlight in the NBA. This is great for the organization - surely, we'll have 2 STARTING all stars this year again and will be the only team to have that. Unless Carmelo really makes a splash, I can't see how this team can be broken: Yao Duncan Garnett Kobe T-Mac Is that the biggest team ever or what?
Tim, Are you working on another promotion with McFarlane Sports Picks to do another Exclusive Stadium Give Away Action Figure??? You know, McFarlane has done Yao and T_Mac figures in it's NBA series. I think it would be sweet if we could get a T-Mac to match last years Yao!:eek I brought all my neices and nephews to the last McFarlane promotion. It was a hit!!! You know I re-newed my full season ticket plan!!! I cant wait!
I'm not a math major, but i think you just multiply the number of games in the plan times the price of the ticket.
This is an interesting table of statistics. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/attendance If you look at this table, you can see how well teams drew at home and on the road. You can see what % of the stadium was full for a team's games at home and a team's games on the road. One could make the logical deduction that a team which draws well at home, yet doesn't attract fans as well on the road has a strong fan base. Examples: Dallas, Detroit, Sacramento, San Antonio, and New York. One could also say that a team that draws well when they are on the road and does not draw well when they are at home has a poor fan base. Examples: Cleveland, Houston, New Jersey, Memphis, Atlanta, Miami
lets say i go for 6games @ $30..thats 180, will there be a discount after that since i purchased a package instead of a single one..like it will be $175 or something..cause i think i am gonna buy one for my cousin.. And by the way, do you know anything about the schedule, and why the opener is on the nov. 2nd not late october..what i know right now is: 1. Denver opens up against Minny on the 2nd, in a doubleheader..( i think it is with cavs and pistons--ring ceremony) on TNT 2.Denver plays LAL on the 4th, in a double header on TNT 3. On the 27th, we take on the spurs(preseason) 4. We take on the kings in China twice(preseason) What i want to know, is that do you have any clue which team we will be taking on first? Thanks
you didnt read my post right..... "Sources say Denver's Nov. 2 opener at the Los Angeles Lakers and the team's Nov. 4 home opener against Minnesota are expected to be broadcast by TNT."
