Actually, a lot of these scams are very well thought out. Most of the scams I knew of includes them trying to make some orders off of some specific website from some small to medium sized company. The first caution flag should be when the delivery is to Nigeria, but then again, not everyone knew. They would then send a huge amount in cashier's checks or what not to "cover the cost and shipping of the product." If the order was around 20k, they might send 50k, etc, and to have you return the money to the original account by writing a check yourself or what not.

These checks are actually suprisingly very close to the real thing. 95%+ of the checks actually goes through and will enter your account, only to be found out about 1-3 weeks later. By then, your product is shipped, the excess money is "returned," and the bank will end up telling you that the check is a fraud and the money will go out of your bank account. The sad thing, is the fact that the bank will probably not be helf liable for misreading the authenticity of the check either. They, on the other hand, gets the money that you sent that was "in excess" of the shipping + the products. You... well, you lose out on the money you sent, and the product + your cost of the product that you sell as no one will pick it up in Nigeria.

I knew about this because someone tried that with me multiple times, originating from a place that's in Laos and ... Maryland, Nigeria.... I did a lot of research at that time and played a small game with them. Basically, they got impatient when I started asking questions and almost started threatening me when I called them on it. They went through my company's website and made an order, which was pretty suspicious since they haven't taken a physical look at the product as most companies will before buying a huge amount. Basically, if it smells like a rat.... and it seems too good to be true....

I get a lot of these scam e-mails. I always want to reply with "F*** Y**!". Is that wrong? :D

I don't get how some people are just so stupid and/or nice that they will even read an e-mail from a complete stranger buying into this crap. We just had a scam in our area where some guys were going door-to-door telling homeowners their city water is contaminated. They would pretend to do a water test at which point they would add some chemical and the water would turn black. They would also show pictures of rusty, old looking water pipes that appeared to be contaminated with rodents and stuff. Some stupid, middle-aged lady fell for it and ended up buying this rather large looking $15,000 state-of-the-art computer controlled water filtration system that was installed on the side of her house...which she couldn't afford. Anyone with even a pea-size brain knows city tap water is safe...safer than bottled water.
