    ...the guy has heart.

I wanted this victory really bad for the Rockets. For one reason I wanted to prove the haters wrong, and secondly it's my birthday and what an amazing gift!

As much as I'd love to hate Kobe, this guy is the heart and soul of an otherwise listless Laker squad. His teammates are total front runners. If they are winning then they're intense and talented, but when losing Kobe seems to be the only one who is playing for something. Having been a fan of the Rockets franchise for many years I know what it looks like when you have it...and I certainly know what it looks like when you don't.

    GO ROCKETS!!!!

I'm glad the Rockets team seems to get along... Kobe, while he may have heart, is no friend of his teammates. He was throwing Vooyah-Chick under the bus going to half, and shaking Powwww's head on the bench...

Friends. How many of us have them?

He had a heart before this game. Pretty sure I saw Brooks and Scola munching on it after they ripped it from his chest.

Sorry no respect for this guy, he wanted to quit on his team a few years ago before they brought in Gasol. He is a crying spoiled brat. He has talent, more heart than T-mac that is about it.

Kobe was removing Pau's hair bugs. Don't be a hater.

I do that to my cat all the time

i'm not a hater. kobe is ridiculously skilled, but i grew up watching hakeem, and i saw no fight in kobe tonight. no demanding the ball. no putting the team on his back. if he has heart, it's not alway pumping.

    Great post!

Another Brother, we could discuss this at length, but you overstate a bit on Kobe. He has a great will to win but he isn't a good teammate or leader, which is a lot of the problem with the Lakers.

Kobe may have heart and I respect his game, but the dude is the biggest whiner in the league. The next time he commits a foul will be his first in his mind. It was so enjoyable to see him T'd up tonight.

    I despise Kobe Bryant.

The whole Lakers team was like, "Oh well, we have game seven... It's what we do."

Their "leader" in this? Kobe... and even Uncle Phil.

Kobe without Shaq = no ring dings.

I respect his talent, thats it. Dude has all the ability in the world and will give it to him that he doesn't quit. He is not a good teammate however. I think he is trying more than he used to, but it seems forced and it really hurts when things aren't going their way.

What I've seen so far is that the rest of his team only shoots well when there is no pressure. Be it us blowing them out or vice versa. Thats why the first quarter is so important this next game. We can't come out and turn the ball over. Once they build a decent lead, things start going right for them. You put any ounce of doubt in them and they collapse.

It reminds me of a character from the show Heroes. There was this one dude whose power was that he grew stronger with people's fear. If hi enemy did not fear him he was powerless. Thats this lakers team. I have seen nothing this series that shows me they are not soft. We need to beat them out of the gate and they will do the rest. Its also important so we take the game out of the hands of the officials.

    Let's go Rox!!!

Having immense talent and killer instinct isn't the same as having heart.

    he's bully

tough when he's on top. passive as they go down. 11-27 in 38 minutes guarded by Battier isn't much heart.

slapping your teammate on the bench for failing to shut down Scola aint much heart

he'll play better in front of the home court but again, you cant say a guy who just missed 2 opportunities to close out a hobbled team is showing "heart"

I disagree with that completely. He's not even the biggest whiner on his team.

I swear Lamar Odom could shoot somebody dead in front of 100 witnesses and a video camera... and he would still complain about going to jail.

If someone pushed my head around like Kobe did to Pau I would lay that sucker flat out. I don't care if he's my teammate or not. He physically and mentally abuses his teammates and I think the reason the team is soft is because they have no selfesteem thanks to Kobe pretty much criticizing them every game. I mean when your own teammate is mentally beating you down and sometimes shoving you around, why the hell would you want to keep playing? Hell Pau is probably wanting to lose just so he can escape the abuse lol.

I may have exaggerated a bit, but every time a call goes against Kobe, he has the are you serious expression ready to go. He whines a lot for a superstar. Just look at the charge on Shane tonight. It annoys me to no end that he has that look every time he gets called for a foul.

Kobe doesnt offer much excuses win or lose, I'll give him that. Its either we kicked their ass or they kicked our ass. Kobe definitely has passion, which is close enough to heart if not the same thing

I can't believe Pau would just let Kobe do that to him and act like nothing happened.
