I think with Adelman coming in, who's probbaly the complete opposite of JVG in that he's as much into offenseas JVG is into defense, a guy like Chuck will be riding the pine. Unless he suddenly develops a 15-18 foot jumpshot over the summer, Chucky's gonna be the 7th or 8th guy at best.

I loved your game Chuck, you were tenacious as hell, but your game doesn't have enough of an offensive polish for Adelman's liking. Work on the J, cuz I really really wanna see you in the game.

I honestly won't be surprised if Chuck isn't trade bait this year now that we know JVG is gone.

Chuckster should definitely work on his shot this summer and become more like a SF/PF hybrid. If he does, expect him to emerge as our teams fourth or even third reliable scorer!! that would be exciting

Yeah, Chuck's the big loser with Adelman coming. There's probably not a single player who's value will drop so much going from one system to another, this year. Just like Brad Miller when Adelman left.

I don't really think Jeff thought Hayes was the ideal as a starter either, he was just the best the rockets have. If there isn't a significant signing/draft prospect, who on the current roster do you see taking his place?

If there is a significant draft pick/signing it is a stretch to say it would have only happened with a new coach.

    :( :( :(

I love his passion. I just wish he wasn't such a liability on offense.

Chuck is a free agent, I would not be surprised if he is not re-signed.

Deke should stay. Chuck should not be the starting PF regardless of team or coach.

He should be on the bench. So should Shane , tangibles my arse!

Bwhaha that means only 2 of our starting 5 will be on the starting roster next year? Seriously besided our big 2 who else was consistant? People think the coach was the problem but it wasn't it was the players on the roster..

My prediciton ***** Adleman will not get more wins that what JVG did this year ***** and if they do make it to round 1 I doubt they get past it with the current roster... The Rockets need to make major changes if they think they can be an elite team let alone a chapionship contender... I'm still amazed at how JVG won so many frigin games with our players and injuries..

there's no shame in being our keon clark...

chuck was just a band-aid anyway. I don't think anyone ever expected him to be the long term solution

I understand the logic, but who are you guys expecting to fill the starter spot? Juwan? Free agent? Draft pick? I think Hayes keeps it unless we get a new pf.

that would be too bad, even in Adelman's system, he still needs a coupla guys who can step in and add some energy and do some dirty work to ignite things. Chuck is someone who can give you that even if you don't consider him to be starting material. Plus, he's young and will be CHEAP. He deserves a spot over pretty much everyone else on the bench cept Head

Look for Kenny Thomas' name to surface.

This is probably a dumb question, but have pity on the NBA rookie - me -

Does having his bird rights mean that anyone can sign him and the Rockets have the option to match or what exactly does it mean?

I still think he will get a role because of his hustle play and every coach loves a hard nose player like that. Maybe Adelman will figure out schemes in which Hayes gets some good looks close to the basket like back door cuts and screen and rolls. However he is definitely not going to play starting PF at this point because he is clearly over matched at his position.

bird rights are only for those instances when you need to exceed the salary cap to re-sign your own player.

Chuck is a 2nd round pick so I believe he is a unrestricted free agent since I THINK (correct me if wrong) that only 1st round picks are RFA after their rookie contract.

Because an even older Juwaun Howard is going to start? I mean I as much as anyone think we need an upgrade at power forward. I think JVG did to. I just don't see this "better" option on our roster that Jeff wasn't playing.

Actually Chuck wasn't even drafted at all. He was an undrafted free agent.
