Obviously, there is no need for Landry now. Artest brings so much more to the table than Landry. You know, for as much as I liked Landry last year this serves him and his stupid agent right for not doing exactly what the Rockets asked. Landry's situation reminds me of Bonzi's a couple years ago. Failed leverage. So long Landry.
I don't think all hope is lost for him yet, but this is definitely a sign from Morey that Landry is expendable and if his agent is still whining about getting paid off, we won't be listening.
Landry off the bench (if truly healthy) could be a valuable asset. I would still take him to back up Scola.
why ? isnt landry a PF ?? i want us to keep landry bad. we would have landry, barry, and battier to bring off the bench...that is pretty damn good if you ask me.
I have to admit that one of the first things that came to mind was that Landry may not be re-signed now. But not because we don't need him, only because it would prevent from Les having to pay the LT...
First of all, we haven't even signed Landry yet. Second of all, Landry is a PF. Artest is a SG/SF. I deem this phailuure.
I know this trade is exciting but lets not get carried away and think we can say bye bye to someone who doesn't even play the same position as the guy we got.
If you take artest and extend him then you go all in and sign landry and pay the luxury tax> the time for half measures are over
one thing has nothing to do with the other. Landy's in the same position he was in before the Artest trade, and we still would be smart to lock the kid up with a reasonable deal. (don't like the tone of the thread)
we need landry. we learned last year, that you cant put all your money on yao and deke. you need a 3rd option at backup...
I really hope things work out for the best and that means we keep and Landry - and that his knee is fine. Lets hope that he is prepared to take the qualifying offer on the table in order to play on a championship level team. (wishful thoughts)
