Tonight I went to CVS to buy some laxatives because i haven't been eating good lately and haven't gone in about 4 days. Anyways thats besides the point. I go in there and there are about 5 arabic women in there with shopping carts full of milk. I don't think they were muslim at least their faces weren't covered with shawls, they could have been Indian or maybe Pakistan, not sure exactly, they had shawls, but not over their faces. Shortly after, 4 more came in and they all got their own shopping carts and filled them with milk. So I go to get in line to pay for my items and there are 9 thats right 9 women with their own shopping carts full of milk. They bought ALL the milk in that whole place. An employee even went to the back to get more milk for them and they bought it all. They were polite to me and let me skip up in line since i only had two items. It was really weird, why would they go to a pharmacy to buy milk and only milk? Is this something they may me doing for Ramadan or is there any other explanation? It crossed my mind about a possibly terrorist attack and they were just loading up on supplies kinda like we all did for the hurricane, but I can't let myself think that way, but it did cross my mind. Maybe the milk was on sale there, who knows, but man it just seemed weird to me.
Every time I see a fat ass buying all the Snickers bars from Walgreens, I just assume he is a fat ass. Every time I see a guy buying laxatives at Walgreens, and only laxatives, I assume that he has lacks discipline in putting whatever he wants into his mouth. I bet every time you see a white guy at Home Depot buying fertilizer and only fertilizer, it crosses your mind that he might be a white supremacist. Let me guess, you have never left the country.
its probably preparing for ramadan. a lot of mosques hold 'iftar' (or breaking of the fast) and a very common drink thats served is milk with rose/strawberry syrub (roo afza) mixed into it. i remember having to make it sometimes you do need a LOT of milk esp to serve a couple hundred people.
I remember one of my friends once gave me cold milk with rose petals or something in it. Wow... that tasted good.
reggietodd, You should've just asked them why they were buying so much milk. I'm sure they would've answered your question. I know I would've asked.
Interesting, I had no idea that: 1) Pakistanis and Indians were 'Arab women' 2) That 'stocking up on milk' is an essential survival tool. On the other hand, I am at least glad that you were honest with yourself and the board in saying that the first thought that came to mind is "terrorism", which is a reaction that most Americans have been programmed to have over the years. I wouldn't be alarmed, it's most likely a Ramadan thing, Muslims tend to go on big shopping sprees right before Ramadan hits.
Well actually now that I think about it, regardless of race, it would have still been just as weird to see 9 women each with their own shopping cart whom all knew each other at CVS pharmacy buying all the milk in that place and only milk.

that's funny, I never thought about it. I was in a CVS Thur. and it was in an older building and it didn't have carpet. Something seemed weird but I couldn't figure it out.
3 chinese ladies loaded up on washing detergent today at walgreens. they bought like 5 boxes each... maybe they were japanese, or viet.. or thai.. but it was so wierd that I have to make a thread about it ooh, and some black people loaded up on snickers and m&m's... oh, ya, and that fat guy that always comes in bought 10 packs of kool's and the old gramma lookin lady thats half alive bought 8 packs of misty menthol 120's

You're a dumbass. There were 9 of them, your comparisons are to (1) fat guy and (3) chinese ladies (1) old grandma. Your arguments aren't valid. Plus it was at a pharmacy, it wouldn't have been so weird if it were at a grocery store. But still.
