Usually, when you want to save a file to your HD, you simply right-click and save. However, whenever I try to save a Real Player file I can't seem to download the full file, but rather one that roots it to the one found online. So, I have to be online to view the file. .ram is the Streaming Real Audio file you speak of. .rm is the actual media file. Pull up the URL to the .ram file and just substitue .rm for .ram and it should download for you. But it saves it as streaming video and I can't get it to save it so that I don't have to be online. I can save CC.net's real audio but I'm not sure that's exactly streaming video because they are larger audio files. When I go to nba.com or rockets.com and save their real video/audio to my hard drive it will automatically connect to the internet when I open the file. I've spent like 10 hours straight one day just searching the net for a program that will allow me to convert it to any video format and I wasted 10 hours. ------------------ Cuttino Mobley Online
There's a program called Voquette that lets you save real audio files to your hard drive, but it doesn't let you convert them to other types of files (as far as I know). ------------------ Houston Sports Board DFW Sports Board
FrancisFan--- For Real Audio on CC.net, are you talking about the 3 Greatest Shot Calls in the Multimedia section? I did those for Clutch and I gave those to him in basic non-streaming format (.rm). .rm files should save to your Hard Drive somewhere (most likely Temporary Internet Files) b/c they are the actual media files (ie: meat & potatoes). If you can get the .rm file on your Hard Drive you should be good to go. Some sites like NBA.com and ESPN.com set up their video (& some audio) files in an imbedded HTML Pop-up Player format. This makes it tricky to find the actual media file. What sometimes works is to get the URL for the file. (It will be long and nasty and have a .htm or .html at the end of it.) Then take out .htm(l) and put in .rm. Sometimes that will get the file for you. You can right click in the pop-up window and view html and then fing the file and download that but when I go offline and try to watch it, it will connect me to the internet. ------------------ Cuttino Mobley Online
