What services do you guys use to get the best Hotel rates? I wanted to take the family on Mar15th - 18th... Hit up SeaWorld , Riverboating,Alamo, Trolley ride ( 2yr old son :D )... I'm having a hard time with reservations and it seems like they are way expensive.. If you guys have any tips, tricks, websites, agents, etc.. that would be great...

I always use priceline or hotwire, the latter more often. Use this site link to get rates others have recently won with. It also has hotel lists for both sites.

If you are willing to stay at an Airport hotel, I can get you a $39.00/night employee rate at a Holiday Inn Express. It looks like the downtown area is booked up.

Otherwise, Priceline, hotwire, etc. are good choices. But, don't expect the hotel to treat you as nicely as someone who pays full rate.

I don't use a service... I just use my past references and call and say "I stayed with you guys before... can I get a repeat customer rate?" Most of the time, it works. ;)

Come Rodeo time, good luck finding even a vacancy. I remember my family and I took off without knowing Rodeo was going on, and we couldn't find anything decent or for more than 2 nights. :( IF you must go around Rodeo time, book WAY early.

Other than that, the national chains like Marriott Courtyard are what I prefer to book.
