Same reason why US are not world champ

In NBA, greatest players win champs by attacking the rim in clutch time. Why? Because they can either score or draw a foul. Then how successful you can draw a foul is the ultimate criteria for superstar.

The written rule is the defensive 3 seconds, which allow the superstar to drive in. The unwritten rule is bigs can't touch the superstars when they drive in. That's why NBA purposedly 'created' those superstars with these rules not applied on intenational arena, where basketball is basketball and competition is fair.

When I saw Dwade and Lebron try to drive in the lane in the world champs games, and 'created' contact and didn't get foul calls they 'deserved' to get, I realized how they can be a superstar in NBA but not a real star in basketball sense.

To me, yao is sacrificed by the NBA rules, which is destined to be unfair beause it's infavor of most American players(not big but quick&atheletic).

i agree. it's getting more and more ugly with perimeter players penetrating and jumping into the defender under the basket and getting the foul call. that's how the nba creates it's superstars. i don't like it at all. take away that circle under the basket. take away defensive 3 seconds. and quit this don't touch the perimeter player non-sense. i don't care if the scores will be 10 points lower. sometimes it even doesn't look like basketball anymore.

I say keep the no touch, but apply to the big man as well. Yao would score 50 if that were going to happen.

I wish they would go back to the old school rules, and fine for flopping. That would be my wish.

I agree that the NBA has to remove the semi circle and the defensive 3 seconds, i might still consider the foul to tend to benefit the offensive player but no matter if he is Frontcourt or Backcourt player.
