Spurs just cut him...any interest? By no means is he dealbreaker...but he's a big body, which is something we are very short of. Plus, he'd obviously come a lot cheaper than Nazr or Jackson.

I would not be mad if the rockets got him
    for a 1 mill exception

What is he? 6'11? I like the way he played in 99'-00' but didn't see much of him last year.
Is he big enough to bang at C?

He's actually only 6'9". He's not a true center by any stretch...but he could play there for us. I'd give him minutes over Cato.

I saw Samaki a lot when he was here in Dallas. During a stretch the guy was avg a double double playing between the 5 and 4 for the Mavs. Unfortunately he got injured and ended up in Nellies dog house. Gary Trent then came along and looked to be the Mavs answer inside and Samaki could not get off the bench. Nellie accused him of playing lousy defense.

The one thing Samaki has is tons of athletism. I thought for a long time that he could have been a stud in this league but he just seemed to content and happy playing behind Duncan on the Spurs the last couple of years.

I don't know if Samaki would be worth the risk now although I still think the guy could avg a double double if he wanted to but he seems to sufer from the same heart diseas as Kelvin Cato.

I also saw him a lot after the Mavs drafted him. He does have some skills as a PF/C but has NO basketball sense (dummmb) and also has a case of Cato's Disease. It's no accident he's been released.

    Rox, don't do it. [IMG]

I like him, but I don't know who we could let go to get him?
He is very similar to Carlos Rogers, if we can get him for 1 mil.

I would pursue Jerome Williams, or trade for Othella Harrington.

Resign Carlos Rodgers, and give him more minutes.

Remember the 10-11 field goal attempts performance in one game?

samaki walker is NO jason collier....

But seriously, i think he's whack, done, spent, washed up, a piece of crap. And i don't think he's any good, either. I would rather use our rather tall, overpaid piece of crap to match up with centers than pay more for additional fecal matter in the paint. But that's just my opinion....
