Channel 2 just reported it on their sports segment...but they said they still don't know where he's going. http://www.freep.com/article/20081212/BLOG14/81212073?imw=Y EDIT: McGuffie is expected to attend a school in Texas, having strongly considered Texas A&M and Baylor.

http://www.blinkx.com/video/mcguffie-pitch-sweep-for-25/zgSGeUOiCfbPZLkr4wVAtw http://www.blinkx.com/video/2008-toledo-at-michigan-part-8/hHYSGOoIPBDGr74L3cisrg Bouncing ball http://www.blinkx.com/video/2008-michigan-wolverines-at-notre-dame-fighting-irish-part-24/_QcT4LBiHZMZfleBDBYR0A There's a good chance he will go to A&M because that was one of his main original schools after him (which included USC). Great acceleration and speed for a taller back (likely 5'10 -5'11), although he has a rather average frame. I hope he transfers to us. (Oklahoma State is on his list)
Wow, things have really gone downhill fast. Michigan sucks. He had 3 concussions. Now if he transfers to an FBS school he'll lose a year of eligibility and only have 2 left.
Three actually. You have to sit out a year, but you don't lose your eligibility, so basically he's redshirting his sophomore year.
Well, this is something you could see coming from a mile away... the worst kept secret in college football.. I've heard A&M, TCU, TTU, and UH. I've heard the TCU and TTU rumors rebuffed though. Who knows, or even cares at this point... these kids are minor rock stars until they sign their LOI, then they're just meat for the grinder.
Why TAMU? Running back is their one strong point. Why not Texas? Does he seek a pro offense? Rich's offense seemed perfect for a crafty speedy back like, whats the deal? Did Minor straight beat him out? TAMU doesn't need McGuffie. They need ALOT of things. But not him.
How bad are people up there on his case? Does he have any vocal supporters on the team and among alumni? Is it possible he gets fired next year?
Transferring does not stop your "clock" but the redshirt year does. You have to sit a year when transferring to/within Division I football. Because McGuffie can use his redshirt while he has to sit out anyways in 09, he will have 3 years left (4 seasons of competition total including Michigan). Had McGuffie used his redshirt in 08, he would have lost a year of eligibility while sitting out in 09. He would have 3 years left at his new school (3 seasons of competition). The D1 clock is you have 5 years beginning with your first semester of full-time enrollment to play 4 seasons.
Texas was never interested in McGuffie from what I remember. I also thought McGuffie was good fit in Rich's offense but nothing is really going right with that offense at all. TAMU could probably use a guy like McGuffie, Goodson is gonna leave this summer and I think Gray is the only good RB on the roster I think.
From what I have been hearing on the Detroit radio stations and from friends that grad. from Mich. is that Rodriguez is def. getting a little bit of slack with this being his first year and the injuries, but next year better not be anything near this bad. I think if they don't make major strides by the end of next season it will get ugly.
Well, he was 3-8 in his first season at WV but went 9-4 the next. I suspect Wolverine fans are expecting the same kind of progress from year 1 to year 2.
Then why would you suggest Texas, with a 4-star coming in (Whaley), 2 4-stars from the class of 08 (Hales-redshirt, Hills), 2 more from 07 that redshirted (Fozzy, Cody Johnson), and another from 06 (McGee)?
I had no idea what Texas was doing. Thats why I said "Why not Texas", I genuinely was asking why. And you answered.
