Assuming Yao Ming/Jason Williams arent in the draft.. i will revise this mock draft as soon as the lottery is revised.

1.) Chicago- Eddy Curry- needs a center badly. krause likes him alot. could trade this pick for more immdediate help.

2.) Golden St.- Kwame Brown- marc jackson looks like he might leave. jamison is learning to play SF. i think they take this guy who is a huge talent

3.) Washington- Eddie Griffin- too talented too pass up. wiz need a SF n PF combo guy. he fits the bill nicely

4.) Vancouver/Memphis- Segana Diop- high for him. but they need a center who can play some D. diop/swift/abdur rahim at full potential would be sweet

5.) Atlanta- Tyson Chandler- i have a feeling they might trade this pick for veteran help. they could choose
woods here too. chandler is most raw n has alot of potential. i think atlanta takes him n trades him.. maybe to boston or detroit for tinsley n a pick. who knows. atlanta wont take richardson... they have terry playing effectively as a 2 guard now. dermar is future 3, kuckoc current 3, mohammed at PF and ratliff at C. i just dont see them keeping this pick. but i do expect they will take the most higly coveted player available

6.) New Jersey- Jason Richardson- yes they need a 5 like woods. but they also need a 2 guard to relieve marbury at times. kittles is simply too fragile. richardon/marbury backcourt could be pretty awesome

7.) cleveland- shane battier- prety logical pick. seems like they'd take. murray doesnt cut it much at the 3 anymore. he and miller should be solid and great competitors.

8.) LA Clippers- zach randolph. - randolph is an intelligent player who rebounds well. he is a beast. they might choose woods but he is too skinny and they dont like skinny centers aka closs.

9.) Detroit- Joe Johnson- i think they take this versatile talent. he can play 2-3 positions and has tons of skills. he can shoot, score , etc. he'd help stackhouse immensely.

10.) Boston- Jamaal Tinsley- they need a PG badly. Tinsley is best one in the draft
11.) Boston- Loren Woods- nice talent and nice pickup this late. they need a center badly too. he could turn out quite well
12.) Seattle- Rodney White- They want to replace baker and white is an excellent talent w/ good size and shooting range. seattle has a SF and SG of future... mason/lewis. baker is gonna be dumped
13.) Houston- Richard Jefferson- good pick for houston. athletic guy who has versatile game and plays good D. if they feel chances r shot w/ webb AND mo they could go for bradley or murphy

14.) Golden St.- Michael Bradley- Best overall talent left... could trade this pick for veteran help
15.) Orlando- Troy Murphy- good pick for them. tough player who can shoot. they got killed on the boards

16.) Charlotte- Trenton Hassell- wesley is not a young 2 guard nemore. mash is a 3. they pick a 2 guard w/ this pick.. this guy sounds like best overall... could go for forte or arenas tho

17.) Toronto- Brandon Haywood- Needs a Center. Antonio can go back to true PF position if they draft one.

    18.) Minn- FORFEIT

19.) Houston- Ken Johnson- Kind of Early for him. but he is a senior, athletic, plays D, Rebounds, and tries unlike cato.

20.) Portland- Jason Collins- needs a tough center. collins is a good role player.. which is what they need.
21.) Cleveland- Joseph Forte- Cavs will get some smart players in forte/battier.. and they need a 2 guard.
22.) Boston-Pau Gasol- great talent. the celts could use som1 this versatile.
23.) Houston- Gilbert Arenas- Odd pick you might say. but not at all really. they need a sparkplug off the bench who can score. often times cuttino/francis r only ones scoring in games. I expect shandon anderson to leave. So there will be no one to back cuttino up. arenas is a dynamite little 2 guard who can really score off the bench and fits ISOs well. He will likely never be big enough to start. but i think he can play.

24.) Orlando- Samuel Dalembart- orlando needs som1 any1 to alter and block a shot

25.) Utah-Ousmane Cisse- another high school player shockingly. But hey he could turn out good. will be brought along slowly.

26.) Sacremento- Omar Cook- JDubb isnt getting it done these days...and bobby j is a backup still. omar will at least maybe light a fire to get jdubb to play
27.) Philadelphia- Tayshaun Prince- rangy player that actually would help larry brown. good shooter, can RB, etc.

28.) Vancouver/Memphis- Gerald Wallace- they take a flyer on this athlete who can jump out of the gym. not a bad backup in case abdur rahim is traded. has potential to be really terrific.
29.) San Antonio- Terrence Morris- a steal at this pick really. great athlete still. is a good role player. to be honest he really could get some time at the 3.. who does SA have there? elliot? ferry? kinda old...

    2ND ROUND

30.) Chicago- Jeff Trapangier- great athlete. they have no1 to backup mercer.
31.) Golden St.- Horace Jenkins- needs help at point badly. this guy can play and is a good athlete.
32.) Orlando- Rashad Phillips- despretly needs som1 to give armstrong a break

33.) Memphis- Jarron Collins- solid guy who will RB and shoot for them
34.) Atlanta- Jeryl Sasser- excellent pick here. will be a good combo guard
35.) New Jersey- Casey Calvary- good pick here. good run jump athlete. can shoot. works hard. keith van horn might be gone.
    36.) Cleveland- Sam Clancy
37.) LA Clips- Alvin Jones- another big body who rebounds
38.) Detroit- Jason Gardner- chucky atkins is not a starting PG. at least jason can play some backup.
39.) New York- Kirk Haston- knicks could use some guys who put it in the hole
40.) Seattle - Michael Wright- vinny doesnt hit the boards maybe he will

beyond this i don know lots of foreigners could go... big bodies.. etc.

    some other options

    kenny gregory
    hunter from depaul
    maurice evans
    keith bogans

    Very good analysis.

Geez thank goodness this is a 14 player deep draft. And the Rockets pick at number 13.

I'd like to think the future 2002 rookie of the year, Joe Forte, would be taken somewhere above #21. He's top ten material.

I would like to think so, but many don't seem to like him. I think he is a great talent. Probably the second or third best player in the whole nation(Behind Jacobsen and Williams)

speaking of rookie of the year awards, winning this one would really be worth something.

Hey, that'd be a great pick! Two college teammates on the same pro team! [IMG]

Joe Forte is not that good. You put him exactly where I expect him to be picked Salsa. Maybe even a little later than that, like Eric Barkley was last year.

A very interesting mock draft Salsa.I would like to ask you why would the Rockets pass up on Pau Gasol if he came out?I think Gasol could still help us even though we have Langhi with us.
Gasol can play the 3,and Jefferson can play both the 3 and 2 spot.If we can get both these players then we don't need Gilbert Arenas.I agree that if get the 18th pick,a center is mostly likely to be selected, provided the Rockets don't pass up on Jefferson.
Who do you think would be the better fit for us,Jason Collins with his all round skills or Ken Johnson with his shotblocking?

pau gasol is an intresting pick. but foreigners last year slid like crazy. also pau might not be quick enough to play SF. theres also issues w/ his contract. he might not be able to get out of it. i think pau would be an excellent option w/ the later pick however. but i'd take jefferson over him still.. becuz i owuldnt trust a spanish players D and i think jefferson has tremendous potential. i really hope no other team picks him b4 us.. cuz i have a feeling jefferson could rise quickly.

as for johnson or collins. i like them both becuz they both are aggressive and are fierce competitors. collins however while very strong and tall isnt as quick and isnt the leaper johnson is. johnson i think could really be good on D given time. but collins has a better offesnive game. however w/ the current makeup offense isnt the biggest need at the moment.

    tacoma
i don think fortes that great either. he's just too small for a 2. he might turn out good who knows. he seems like a player cleveland could use. he really could fall tho. but based on the UNC status he'll likely stay 1st round

i actually think some players r hugely overrated. michael bradley to me doesnnt seem like lottery material. he is the ultimate college player. i think tyson chandler could drop too.. n fact to be honest unless he really realy works at the SF position i think he will be a bust. n also i don think curry is worht that top pic.. but krause woulndt take any1 over him unless jwill was ther likely. alvin jones is another player i think is overrated. Big guys who can RB and have strength simply arent that hard to find. big guys w/ athleticism and skills is a different story.

like i siad ill repost the new draft next weekend. lol some fool team like boston sure better not mess me up by winnin the lottery.

I thought that the rockets haven't received the #19 pick yet due to a clerical error. It will still might end up the rockets pick.

Considering that Golden State has their starting shooting guard, in Larry Hughes, for the next decade, it makes absolutely no sense to draft Forte.

BSKBalls mockdraft is puzzling me. they have tinsley at #2. jefferson at #4. n they r now reporting forte is a "lock for the top 3 pick since golden st. has scouted him all year"

they have kaspars kambala at #22 being drafted by us

they have charlie bell in the first round at #20

kenny satterfield as #17... wallace at #9
o and if yao ming came out he'd be the #12th pick

does any1 think forte really is a top 10 picK? i can see golden st. taking him at 14 but top 3? theres no way!

also if joe johnson slips to us.. do u think we choose him or jefferson if we had a choice? according to bball hes going 24th...

i also heard vancouver likes kwame brown. but they have swift developing and i really don think they r going to give him up after one season. i have them taking diop cuz they need a center. kwame isnt a center. they aready have one really raw PF. also does any1 think vancouver could take richardson? they seem to forget about dickerson on some nights.

hey TSalsa. Got to read it the mock draft now. I agreed with alot of your picks, very good job, thats one of the best ones I seen so far.

Just a question, you think Ken Johnson will slip that low?

ive heard lots of places where ken johnson could go. some say late late first others say mid first. personally i think he'll be around. i'd rather him than alvin jones. i was a bit surprised where i read jones had a 37 in vertical hto... is that accurate? he doenst look like the best athlete. i don know much about alvin tho.

forte i don know hes a hit or miss likely
i cant believe alton ford was stupid enough to enter the draft. he will be a 2nd round pick i think. also earl watson isnt a bad 2nd round pick either IMO. i still think forte wont be that good

If I were Alton Ford, or any other college player with any talent, I'd post for the draft and not sign with an agent. That way I get all sorts of free trips, a chance to compare myself to other hopefuls, a change to talk to NBA coaches -- and I then can withdraw a week before the draft (no harm, no foul).

Yeah, except that you have to pay all of your own travel costs and expenses or you lose your NCAA eligibility.
