    TEXAS SALSA’S FINAL MOCK DRAFT
    email at greg01@flash.net

    1st ROUND

1.) NJ Nets- Kenyon Martin ( there is no way they can blow this pick. if they do they
should be banned from the NBA. kenyon really reminds me of a young rasheed wallace
if they pick mihm i will be surprised, they could pick him and trade him though.)
2.) Vancouver Grizzlies- Stromile Swift (another no brainer pick, although i hate to see
    them get him)
3.) LA Clippers- Marcus Fizer ( Exactly waht they need, a fierce warrior and
    competetior.)
4.) Chicago Bulls- Chris Mihm ( Tough to figure this one out.)
5.) Orlando Magic- Darius Miles ( Steal away a player from Chicago. they will take a high
    schooler or two here.)
6.) Atlanta Hawks- Dermarr Johnson ( Needs a shooter, and a guy with talent)
7.) Chicago Bulls- Courtney Alexander ( Best player left, although they could go for
Dooling. I doubt they draft Miller cause Artest plays the 3)
8.) Cleveland- Joel Pryzbilla ( needs a center to replace whats his name)
9.) Houston- Mike Miller ( Rudy T loves the kid)
10.) Orlando- Jerome Moiso ( They will take a nice athlete here)
11.) Boston- Iavoko Tsaklalidas ( a foolish pick IMO, but pitino will have thoughts about
    him being the next nowitzki)
12.) Dallas- Olumide Oyediji (I’d bet $50 that they draft him, BOTH nelsons love him)
13.) Orlando- Deshawn Stevenson ( they take 2 high schoolers, in hopes that both will be
awesome in a year or 2)
14.) Detroit- Eric Barkley ( Needs a true PG)
15.) Milwaukee- Etan Thomas ( needs D and RB’s which he can provide)
16.) Sacremento- Desmond Mason ( a perfect athletic player for them)
17.) Seattle- Q Richardson ( he slips, but gary payton will love playing with him they are
    unhappy with brent barry)
18.) LA Clippers- Mateen Cleaves ( kind of high actually, but the clips need someone to
take charge. fizer/cleaves/odom would be a nice tandem)
19.) Charlotte- Michael Redd ( eddie jones might leave)
20.) Philadelphia- Ja Ron Rush ( i think this guy will be awesome, he will be really badass
    next to iverson)
21.) Toronto- Keyon Dooling ( needs a year or 2 of seasoning but should be really good
    here)
22.) New York- Morris Peterson ( Huge slip for him but NY will love him)
23.) Utah- Hanno Mottola ( hometown hero, wouldnt be too bad of a compliment to
    malone/stockton)
24.)Chicago- Craig Claxton ( a nice guy to run the point)
25.) Phoenix- Ernest Brown ( needs a center)
26.) Utah- Chris Carrawell ( a fundamentally sound player who Sloan will love)
27.) Indiana- Corey Highwater ( a good talent who could help them out)
28.) Portland- Jason Collier ( old sabonis meet the new sabonis hahaha)
29.) LA Lakers- Donnell Harvey ( needs a PF who can hit the boards. i had a hard time
wondering if they would draft him or kapono.)

2nd Round Will be out tom.

    2ND ROUND

30.) LA Clippers- Jamaal Crawford ( a good player with lots of talent excellent
    replacement for Derek Anderson)
31.)Dallas- AJ Guyton ( Steve Nash doesnt cut it at the point)
32.) Chicago- Peter Mickeal ( they sucked on D this year)
33.) Chicago- Jason Kapono- ( best available guy)
34.) Chicago- Eduardo Najera- ( ditto)
35.) Washington- Ed Cota ( NC alum, they will dump strickland soon, he and richard
hamiltion would make a nice backcourt of the future.
36.) New Jersey- Chris Porter ( an exciting player who could help them)
37.) Denver- Schea Cotton ( they lost mercer so they take another athletic 2)
38.) Houston- Mamadou N’Diaye ( a project, but a steal here. he will give Cato some
competetion. i think he will be an excellent backup and /or an adequete starting center.
houston will be lucky as hell to get him here. he sure is BIG.)
39.) Boston- Jason Hart ( i think they will dump kenny anderson )
40.) Atlanta- Jabari Smith ( best big guy left, he could help them)
41.) San Antonio- Gee Gervin ( haha just to make the rox mad, go cougars!)
42.) Seattle- Jamaal Magloire ( a steal at this pick, they need RBs and D)
43.) Milwaukee- Scoonie Penn ( needs a backup to cassell)
    44.) Detroit-Soumalia Soumake ( needs a shotblocker)
45.) Sacremento- Harlod Arceanux ( could use him)
46.) Toronto- Pepe Sanchez ( another PG)
47.) Seattle- Doc Robinson ( needs a backup PG)
48.) Philadelphia- Dan Langhi ( good shooting big guy who would compliment iverson
    well)
49.) Milwaukee- Dan Mclintok ( biggest body left)
50.) Utah- Matt Santangelo ( a gonzaga product who can shoot)
51.) Minnesota- Jeryl Sasser ( need a replacement for sealey. )
52.) Miami- Johnny Hemsely ( he and tim james were teammates)
53.) San Antonio - Eddie House ( the spurs need instant offense thanks soone [IMG] )
54.) Denver- Khalid El Amin ( could use a guy like him w/ lots of heart)
55.) Golden St.-Mark Madsen sorry forgot him in original post golden st. could use him
56.) Indiana - Lavor Postell ( forgot about him he could be an ok bench guy)
57.) Portland- Jimmy Hunter ( uhh hes from LIFE university and that makes him cool lol)
58.) Dallas- Yao Ming ( hes big and hes foreign so nelly wil draft him)

Good stuff however Seattle isn't unhappy with Barry, they are unhappy with Baker.

It would be great to see Miller slip down to #9.

I jsut don't know about Miller. I have this feeling we're drafting Matt Bullard all over!!

Understand I don't know jack about most of these guys. I hope I am wrong.

Matt Bullard is the most hilarious comparison I've heard.

Miller is a point forward type, great ball handling skills, good shooter, athletic

Bullard is the team sharp shooter, a la Tim Legler.

Are the odds greater that the NBA draft will go in the order Salsa has predicted or that I will win the lottery?

TeXaSalsa -- well done mock draft. The only thing I disagree on in the Top 12 or so (though I hope you are right) is DerMarr Johnson going #6 to the Hawks. I'd love for Miller to slide down to us but I'm betting Atlanta scoops him up there barring any surprises (in other words, a Fizer or Swift miraculously being available at #6)

    On Mike Miller
No way miller will turn out like bullard. as NIKEstard said can do so many more things

you can make a point that any player we draft will turn out wrong or not live up to his potential. but i dont think miller will, maybe not a superstar, but he will be a good player.

    Clutch
Thanks im glad you like it. the reason i see the hawks taking dermarr before miller is because he is a bit more versatile and might have a higher ceiling. i had trouble deciding on thatt pick. your probably right, they probably will take miller as a safe pick, but it depends on who that new coach likes. dermarr can play 3 positions, miller two. i know they like miller alot, but im not completely sold they will absolutely pick him yet. then again watch ill eat crow and they take miller lol.

    knits stekcor
im still scratching my head on what your post meant. you will win the lottery?

    on seattle
they are unhappy with baker, and GP doesnt like barry starting the 2. i did put magloire in the 2nd round to replace baker if needed. Q would be really good with GP.

actually, i compare miller to sean elliot. same height/weight. both have good 1st steps, and can handle the ball well for a SF. Lets hope he doesnt play as tentative as sean did in his early years, but ive always thought that sean could have been a great player.

From all accounts that I have read, Payton is unhappy with Shammond Williams at the 2 not Barry. That is why Williams's minutes were slashed in the last few games of the Utah series. I do agree that Richardson would fit well there.

Salsa: No, I'm seriously wondering what the odds are. Not just your mock draft, anybody's. Does one have a better chance picking the draft picks (around 50 selections, but reasoning behind the selections), or picking lottery numbers (6 completely random selections).

Hey i heard barry. guess he's just unhappy with both. we r proly both right. Q i think would fit well there.

    Knit steckor
Are you asking is this the final order?
picks 1-3 are determined by chance
all the lotto picks are for teams that did not make the playoffs

the rest of the order is determined by records, trades, etc, NBA.com released the official order.. so this is the final order of the draft period. the teams will pick their respective players on draft day, i made this mock draft to speculate and guess who they would pick. hope that answers your question.

    gr8-1
thats a very good comparison. i think miller can do a little more than elliot can though. lets hope he isnt as injury prone.

Nice draft. My only problem and it is a really picky one is that most experts have Jamaal Maggloire as a mid to late first rounder or a very early second rounder. Just have to watch out for my Wildcats.

hmm thats intresting i thought magloire would be a definite 2nd round pick. he's a nice player, but not much offesne. i dont know who would need him despretly enough in the 1st round to pick him. he might go late 1st round to early 2nd. where i have him is pretty low, but i don know i just dont see any teams picking him in 1st round. maybe LA? i dont think there is a chance he will go mid first though. jsut my opinion. what do u guys think of where i have porter, cota, najera, ja ron rush? i thought where i put those would raise some ?s

Eddie House may actually go late first round. I know it's hard to remember every single player, but that one was too obvious. He scored 61 points in a game this season. He's a Cuttino-clone it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a great scorer on the roster incase Cuttino leaves. We might be able to nab him at #38.

Gosh darn it i knew i forgot someone. geez thanks soone. ill edit it. i think i forgot scoonie penn too. i think he should be put late 2nd round though. i still would love to get N'Diaye at #38. i really like that guy alot for some reason just think he is a hard worker, he is always looking to improve his game, he payed for his admission to Pete Newell's big man camp himself.
