Nice, more cap space! Wonder what the KD/Horford mid max will be, and the Barnes/Whiteside mini max will be under 94 mill though.

The maximum player salaries are now expected to be $22 million for tier 1, $26.4 million for tier 2 and $30.8 million for tier

Found it on the Yahoo article.

Can anyone explain to me why the numbers end up like this? I thought years 1-6 were 25% of the cap as the max. Like this season the salary cap is 70 million which would mean 25% of that would be $17.5 million if we multiple 70m by 25%. Instead the max for those players was $16.4 million.

    Thanks

According to the CBA faq two different percentages are used to calculate the salary cap and the max salary tiers. So the team cap will be $94 mil but the max tiers don't use $94 mil for the calculations. If you go by 25%, 30% and 35% the base # they use to calc it is $88 mil. Has to do with percentages that weren't changed from past CBA agreements.
