aren't the texans suppose to be under the salary cap? like, well enough below to acquire some meaningful players to the team? mabe i heard/read wrong.
but if we are under the cap, why is casserly head strong about staying clear from free agency? perhaps im missing something, because last time i checked this team was the worst in the NFL. we have money to get better players... yet we dont? i think this team ought to look into clements from the bills... the guy is an amazing CB. him and robinson in the backfield would help our safeties not look so bad getting burned.

oh well, just a thought. if not clements... then somebody. i dont understand why a team wouldnt try to better themselves if given the opportunity. but again, i may be missing something that yal could inform me with. thanks. holla back

The cap should go up significantly for next year, so we should be able to make a few good pickups. We should also dump McKinney, because his dead money is low (~800K) and he counts ~ 4M against the cap.

Casserly may have been referring to free agents that might be re-signed. It's not often that teams will release a rare talent (such as Champ Bailey), unless they're getting something major (Portis) in return.

When you have these rare talents, you tend to hold on to them. I don't see the Texans ever dealing Robinson and Johnson unless it is for an umbelievable return on investment. I don't even want to think about that happening.

I see us looking for a OL and DL (or CB) in free agency.

We are between $10 and 13 million under from the estimates I've seen. Of course it all depends on what the cap is set at.

If we can get Woodson for a decent price I wouldn't mind the Texans going after him. He and Dunta on the corners would make our secondary alot better than Phillip B. on the otherside.
