LOL... oh man that quote is going to get unfairly picked apart, and it won't be good for Yao and T-Mac.
Interesting article and quote .. He probably meant when Yao is not playing well and TMac is out with reference to the quote. Anyhow, IMO it doesn't matter who lead as long as we win.
Nah, I think you can take that statement for what it's worth. I think each guy has been picking their spots and getting use to it. Ron's intended role is to be a leader off the bench and a 3rd supplemental scorer. He did a great job of that in the 4th quarter the other night with Yao and Tmac on the bench. I like it when he leads and I'm sure when there are nights that Yao or Tmac don't have it going they can appreciate Ron stepping up.
"I always believed we could have won a championship with that (2007-08 Kings) team, and nobody believed me." He lost all credibility after that quote...
I think this quote is interesting... when Artest was displaying questionable shot selection by driving into the crowd repeatedly and getting his shots swatted, I don't remember Adelman reacting immediately. But he did came out later and said that there were open guys and Ron could have passed. I'd bet Adelman waited to talk to Artest in private because he knows that's how you handle Artest.
Doesn't surprise me. Any of yall ever been to Sacramento? I was there for work last Wednesday and it freaking sucks. Not a damn thing going on there. Houston is paradise compared to it.
A friend of mine had to work there for a few months, a couple of years ago, and was bored silly. He didn't think it sucked, but there simply wasn't much going on that he liked doing.
Funny fan comment on the article Looks like Kevin Martin is getting the T-Mac treatment from their fans.
Its not a place to visit but the outskirts are a good to live in. I try to never go downtown because it does suck.
They're both talented players, but neither one is a leader. That's not a knock on either player, it's just not in their characters. It's not even a big deal with the right teammates. This team needed grit and Artest brings that.
Yao is a pretty go leader if you ask me. He works harder than anyone. He's unselfish, he speaks up when he has to, and he plays with energy every night. If people don't see him as a leader now, then he probably wont convince you ever.
Tracy and yao are both good players, but neither are alpha males. Its not in their nature. Its no difference between Cassell going to minny with garnett. Cassell was the leader even though kg was the better player. Artest can get guys to run through a brick wall because he'll run throug one. Tracy and yao aren't those type of players.
jVgOwnsYou: yao is consistently the largest man on the court. there is no one taller, and a select few that are heavier. when he is getting outrebounded by midget guards, that is NOT playing with nrg every night. having multiple <7 reb efforts isn't either. choosing to blow layups over going up strong is pretty pathetic, as well.
Well since when did leadership become about size and numbers? Yao has deficiencies on the court. All players do, but to say he lacks leadership is pretty ignorant. The guy has come back from multiple injuries. He has lifted his game up when Mcgrady was injured. He has battled constant criticism to remain the leader of the team. You can see it already this season. When Yao leads the team with his production, the rest of the team follows and we usually get a win. Thats what leadership is. Making everyone else around you better to achieve a goal. Yao does it in a lot of different ways.
it seems the vocal leaders for this team is ron and rafer lol. Every game i see these two communicating with others the most. yao is like a leader in Chinese natinoal team, but he doesn't seem to talk much as a rocket on the court lol . t-mac i dont know.
