I already have zero respect for Saban but if this goes down, he would be the #1 a$$hole in sports IMO. This guy is a piece of crap.
Well, I guess he's trying to up his ante against Petrino for the "Greatest Douchebag In The World Of Sports" title.
you'd have to be pretty dense to think saban would leave one of the highest profiled and greatest college football programs in history, a dominating recruitment base, and more money for west *****ing virginia. seriously.
WV should say "sorry, were not interested in hiring a $2 skank", and hire Bowden. Bowen's dad coached at WV before FSU so there is a line there. What parents are going to encourage their kids to play for Saban, or Petrino? But honestly I'll bet Saban's interest in this is being faked just to make him and Bama look worse to recruits.
Saban or shall we call him Satan from now on This guy is so overrated, the year he won the national title game was thanks to USC getting robed by the BCS. I think the problem is that he now realizes how good of a program LSU has become and the mistake he made to leave so early. Alabama may be a historic program but they haven't done a thing in a decade. Satan is nowhere near the caliber of a Pete Carroll, Jim Tressel, Bob Stoops or even Mack Brown.
you honestly think that parents are the ones who make the decision on where their 18 yr old superstar athlete goes to college? I don't think so.
Alabama WAS one of the highest profiled football programs in history, but they haven't done much the past decade or two. Alabama does have the #3 ranked recruiting class coming in for which is why I'm suprised by this. But Saban is a quitter...if he could leave the SEC and not have to battle LSU, Florida, Georgia, Auburn, and a possibly rejuvinated Arkansas year in/year out for the ultra-competitive Big East (sike) AND still be able to compete for a MNC/BCS Bowl every year, he's had no problem leaving other teams.
Then why would this matter? "What parents are going to encourage their kids to play for Saban, or Petrino?"
I guess as the old saying goes, there is a sucker born every minute. When a kid could go to relatively neighboring UF, LSU, Tenn or Georgia (well they are #2 ahead of Bama now on rivals), to a stand up coach and more appealing city, hard to believe Bama is doing that well recruiting wise. Hey parents, this isn't the Bear Bryant 60s, and hey kids, you are stuck with that era drab unis. Maybe it is a 1 year fluke/halo.
