    NEW ORLEANS (AP) -- The New Orleans Hornets have signed free agents Ryan Bowen, Trey Johnson and Anthony Richardson, bringing their training camp roster to 16.

    Bowen, a 6-foot-9 forward, is a seven-year NBA veteran who has spent time with the Denver Nuggets and Houston Rockets. He has appeared in 432 career games with 78 starts in the NBA, averaging 2.7 points and 2.2 rebounds in 13.0 minutes. Most recently, he played for the Minnesota Timberwolves' summer league team in Las Vegas, where he averaged 5.8 points and 3.6 rebounds in five games.

    Johnson, a 6-5 guard from Jackson State, was the Southwestern Athletic Conference player of the year after averaging 27.1 points and 4.5 rebounds in 35 games.

    Richardson, a 6-9 forward from Florida State, participated on the Hornets' summer league team, averaging 13 points and 4.4 rebounds in five games.

    Its amazing that a player like himself can keep himself in the NBA when some of these straight out of HS prodigies can't stay in the NBA as long him. Proves the saying "hard work beats talent when talent doesn't work hard" to be true.

    Was anyone else beside me genuinely happy with this news. I didn't really think I cared much about "Flyin Ryan" but this news made me smile. Good for him.

    remember that game against Gstate where they were just ignoring bowen, and he was getting those easy layups.....

    i belive that was the game lu hit that three to send it to overtime

    lol. good for him..if he makes the team and actually gets some PT, he's definately gonna annoy opposing teams
