He was so good at it. Why doesn't he use this move anymore? Is he playing hurt? Have his injuries healed yet? If I recall well he only tried it a couple of times in the regular season in first couple of games, or it was preseason?
different role now in houston. he just catches and shoots while stars players like brewer get to do the big boys stuff
He did it more in the beginning of the season. The "Dirk" fadeaway. But now he shoots mostly 3's. 3ft behind the line too. They've learned that they don't have any spacing if they shoot right on the line so now they shoot 3ft back and it looks like they've been practicing those shots a lot.
I heard he was willing to sign for $16m/yr, but Morey and MDA offered him $20m, if he promised to never shoot that long 2 again.
Simple Mid range is the least inefficient shot in the NBA. Add to that a step back and a fadeaway and it becomes even less efficient. #mauryball
But woudn't you agree it's more efficient than his spin move or whatever strange moves he's trying to do beside 3pt shooting?
It seems to me that other times are going after him strategically. He often gets matched up with the best forward defender because Ariza doesn't really need to be defended. Personally, I just want him to never, ever pass up a three. Continue to hit the glass and play tough D, two things that I have been pleasantly surprised with from him. As of right now, he is earning his money.
Yes I am also very satisfied with his D as per as my best knowledge though it may be I am not knowledgeable enough to judge his D. So I would want to hear from others about his D.
His D is a problem that we are hiding exceedingly well, similar to how we hid Scola the older he got.
I know it is early but wow. It just does not seem like he is hitting 41% of his 3's. What am I missing. Are they just meaningless less important 3's or what. I mean I will take 41% all day. Just don't perceive it is that.
His value goes well beyond his actual production. Anderson is 2nd on the team in +/- at +4.8 per game, only behind Harden. While most of his minutes are with Harden, it's obvious that he has gravity. San Antonio put Kawhi Leonard on him in the 2nd game, which tells you how important they believe Anderson is to our offense. The game changes with Anderson in. If you give him just a little space, he's not going to hesitate. If you keep a man attached at his hip, then you leave Harden to play 4 on 4. One general rule of basketball...less players involved favors the offense. Defense wins by having 5 guys working as a collective unit. If the game become Harden vs. whoever (even Kawhi), he's going to win more often than not.
I don't understand why he isn't aggressive? He looks heavy footed and doesn't like to cut and just camp at the 3 when the lane is open for him...
