Nuggets just keep getting slightly worse every year since their championship.

 

That's a solid deal and he's better than Reggie Jackson, but yeah that roster is not winning a damn thing.

 

At a minimum, they must add another perimeter player better than WB to contend.

It ain't over yet. They have until the trade deadline. Starting the season "within striking distance" is not the worst place to be.

At this point Russ knows he’s a role player, they’ll be fine.

 

That isnt the right question though. Does he make the Nuggets better? I am not so sure. As for fine, sure, they will make the playoffs, but they are no longer the favorite to come out of the west and make the finals.

If last year is the gauge, Russ was decent to good in the regular season and terrible in the playoffs.

 

So the question is if Russ makes them better or worse.

I say nuggets are fine cause I don’t think he does much of either tbh.

Now that Russ knows he’s a role player, he doesn’t have an ego backing up a star like Murray (as opposed to scrub like bev), he doesn’t get paid much, and will only get like 20 mpg.

He’s just a brick layer back up pg to give energy and make plaid when appropriate.

Russ can actually fit decently on the Nuggets cuz MPJ and Murray are good spacers and 3 pt shooters. He can be a decent piece like he was on the Clippers.

However I still think Nuggs missed the boat cuz they could have had Tyus Jones instead. They did sign Dario Saric to just 5M though, IMO the best offseason signing this year.

Jokic is not Steven Adams. For years, Adams let Westbrook get all the rebounds he could get to shore up his triple double thing. Jokic couldn't care less about Russ's obsession with triple doubles.

 

Jokic stole his rebound and Westbrook gave him a boop.
