Rupert Murdoch Admits Fox News Pushed Election Lies

"I could have (stop it). But I didn't," the Fox Corp. chairman said when asked
if he could have ordered Rudy Giuliani and Sidney Powell off the air

Murdoch not only admitted the hosts were pushing lies about the election, he suggested it was helping Fox make money.

    And?

    Nothing will come of it
    Nothing will change

That's the point . . . we have legalized and normalized this level of lying
and its too useful for anyone in power to change it

This will only have an impact on the appropriate demographic if Fox News is reporting on it and condemning it 24/7.

Once again require that FOX News change its name to FOX Entertainment.

No amount of money, or fines, or public apologies will do **** to curb this. Lying to the public with false stories just for money. The FCC should destroy Murdoch.

    Yellow Journalism on ****ing steroids.

Lol. Courts and the rule of law have a liberal bias. Find a better source.

There are biases in much of the media, but it isn't a case of both sides are equal. Clearly the Fox/Newsmax side is far worse.

A billion plus dollar judgment against Fox might make a difference

Hate sells. It always has. Source: Every civilization, ever.

I would take around the clock vitriolic condemning of themselves and telling the truth Fox news instead of the money.

Always an excuse with the 'right'.

Yeah, they don't care if Fox lies and admits it in court. They'll justify it as a means to an end. That's imprinted in Fox's DNA from its founding days with Roger Aisles. It's Nixonian politics 101.

I remember Donna Brazile (DNC chair, but also a contributor at CNN) was accused (rightly) by Trump of previewing some town hall questions to Hillary Clinton during the democratic primary. Trump made a lot of hay about it and it was a big talking point for conservatives bashing Clinton's candidacy for cheating. CNN says Brazile didn't get the questions from them, but she got a couple of them somehow. It was a few questions, and they were inexact. But even exact, a preview of primary season town hall questions is pretty minor compared to sharing confidential ad material with his competitor before they were aired. I'm sure that must breach whatever contract Fox signed with the Biden campaign and now Biden has grounds to sue too (though I'm sure he won't). If such a big deal about some town hall debate questions during the primary was made, surely Fox sharing ad material has to be worse, right?

Hacked emails suggest Trump was right after all: Clinton got previews of some debate questions - The Washington Post (googleusercontent.com)

From the court filing: "During Trump's campaign, Rupert provided Trump's son-in-law and senior advisor, Jared Kushner, with Fox confidential information about Biden's ads, along with debate strategy"

I would ask exactly what was given and if there isn't an adequate answer, sue to get the information.

But on the surface... FNC is

Unethical - absolutely, but that was already well established after the intentional lies by FNC on-air to their audience
    Breach of contract - possibly
    In-kind political contributions - maybe

Guaranteed its a breach of contract. Just imagine if a media company leaked Coke's advertising strategy to Pepsi. You better believe there would be some massive lawsuits.

However, the only party that has standing to initiate a lawsuit is Biden and I doubt he will. The FEC won't bring a suit around in kind contributions because they're the FEC and do virtually nothing.

A billion dollars is really just pocket change for them relative to the alternative to losing relevance by not being able to make up stuff for Commodore and company to spam the internet with. And they'd likely be able to tie up any verdict in court for years.

    Okay?

This is ******* AMERICA ........ this is about the most American virtue of ALL and that is making money.

Not some money, not enough money, not even a lot of money - but so much ******* money that no one noticed your greying on you have a pot belly or maybe you are a little short.

The kind of money that you can't count.

So it sounds like me that it was just good business for Fox.

Also, nothing personal - They did it for the money.
