Has anyone else here experienced the hellish pain that is runner's nipple? I run 6-10 km about 2 or 3 times per week and it's gotten to the point where it is excruciating. The left one is rubbed so raw that it's almost bleeding. Cotton shirts tend to be worse, but I still get it even with the new fancy wicking running shirts, although they do seem to be a little better. I tried taping some gauze over the nipple one time, but it just fell off less than 1/4 of the way into the run. How do you deal with it?
don't wear a shirt? actually, this is the first time i have heard this problem. not a long distant runner.
Long distance runners wear tape over their nipples. I'm sure you can buy tape especially made for this.
So that's what that is. I remember feeling that pain playing basketball one day from 12 to 2. I was like WTF is going on. It hurt real bad!
During summers I would move freight and had to wear steel toe boots. It was 100 degrees in the shade sometimes and even hotter inside the steel hold of the truck. My point I'm making is that I would sweat like crazy on a daily basis and two pairs of socks and mole skin did not alleviate the friction of the boots and I got killer blisters. Then I tried something new. Dr. Scholls Cushlin. The stuff is pretty thin and is flexible and didn't pull the hairs on my feet and toes too bad. Go get you some and put it on your *ahem* nipples and see if that helps. Maybe cut them to fit your nipples b/c the pads come in an oblong, oval shape and when you sweat and are in a white shirt people will see and wonder if you are human. Hope that helps.
maybe wear a womens tight tube top underneath your top shirt? One of those thingies that have no straps or abdomen...just elastic around the chest. right?
