I've never seen it so deliberate. Against LA the Rockets wanted to play half-court exclusively.

If this is just one step in the evolution of the new Rockets, then I am fine with it because you have to have a good half-court game to win in the NBA. They can perfect their half-court play first and then add in the fast break.

If this is good enough for Rudy and his vision of the team doesn't include running at all, then I am pissed. Rudy has talked about getting up and down the floor, they have apparently focused on that in practice, but he hasn't mentioned it to them during a game.

In one of the post game interviews Steve mentioned that they want to show people they can play half-court instead of just running the floor. When does he think the Rockets were running the floor? 6 or 7 years ago when he was in 8th grade maybe.

    Great thread.

Who says they have even learned a half court offense? They are near the bottom of the NBA in an assists to made field goals ratio.

The Rockets are currently the fifth best rebounding team in the league. I can't find the stat, but someting tells me they are near the bottom in fast break points. Very frustrating as I think the Rocks have well above average team speed.
