Francis or Brand? After receiving the MVP of the Rookie all-star game Elton Brand became the choice of most people. Just think about it, #1 draft pick, all-star MVP, the only thing left is Rookie of the Year. Not just his awards make him a candidate, he puts up significant numbers, leading all rookies in scoring, rebounds, double-doubles, and leads the whole NBA in offensive boards. Although, he is not like Mike he is more the laid back type who just goes on the floor and does his part. While Steve Francis on the other hand is one of those hyped players who likes to get the fans on their feet. What makes Francis a close runner with Brand is he is the only rookie to lead his team in three categories, scoring, steals, and assist, not to mention leads rookies in assist with 6.6 apg. all-star game mvp ? thats not a big deal to me. It seemed like francis and odom were playing more unselfish to me. But, you don't hand a reward to someone just becuz they dominated olowakandi in the all-star game. Elton is a great player and is having a great year.
