I can't confirm this as true but I heard about a S&T deal between the Rockets and Raptors that would send Moochie Norris to the Raptors in exchange for one or more of the following players: Brian Skinner, Eric Montross, Michael Bradley. This is all I've heard. Don't shoot the messenger! What do you think of Brian Skinner? This guy is huge and can bang in the paint REALLY well. He was a bit player on the Clippers but could probably average double-digit rebounds on a team like the Rockets. He's 6'9-6'10 265 or something like that. I watched some games on satellite and he impressed me greatly with his post moves and willingness to bang in the post. Montross.... no. Although I've heard he's been improving after practicing with the Dream. Michael Bradley is a rookie and more of a PF type. Was a college phenom, but it remains to be seen how he'll handle the transition to the pro-games. His fundamentals are supposedly excellent and he has an incredible knack for passing. I asked my source whether Keon Clark was a possibility(I know some fans here wanted him) and he said probably not because he's been dominating in the Raptors training camp. He's also supposed to back up Dream and even play some SF(now that's versatile!). Why would the Raptors want Moochie? Chris Childs' contract is up after this season and he will probably move on.
Skinner...one ex-Clipper is more than enough Montross...he sucks Bradley...I'd gladly take him in exchange for the afro what is your source???
Raptors are looking for balance and believe that they are top heavy in the front court and could be very interested in Norris. On the other hand if Jackson comes on, I believe we would be top heavy too, if we got Skinner or Bradley. Could this be a fall back position for not getting Jackson? Where is OP when you need him?
This sounds like a contingency deal in the event that MJ gets roped back by GSW. Bradley... YES, if available Skinner... YES Montross.... NAH, without a throw-in Isn't there some kind of problem with Bradley being traded until a certain point in the season (Dec?) because of his new contract. I remember this because Bradley and Skinner were two of the guys being speculated on as compensation for Hakeem, but it seems to me that someone said that Bradley couldn't be traded because he had just been signed. Word?
The first thing that jumps out at me is that Moochie/Fegan can get more money taking our deal than being matched in a trade opposite Bradley's ~$1m rookie salary. This one doesn't make sense for why Fegan would pursue a SnT. The second thing to watch out for here is that any SnT with Moochie has salary matching problems due to he would be a Base Year Compensation player. In salary matching, we could only take back half the salary he signs for. The difference must be made up with cap room or an exception. For instance, we could only take back $1.75m in salary if Fegan signed him to $3.5m as speculated. Since Toronto does not have cap room or an exception, they'd have to send a full $3.5m contract back to us, thus we'd be facing the salary matching descrepancy of $1.75m. luckily we have an exception to make it work...however, currently that exception is tied up in an Offer Sheet, and can't be used. The only way we can move Moochie in a SnT without a usuable exception is to get a 3rd team involved who has one (or cap space). Somebody has to go up ~$1.75m in salary for any of this to work....that team would have to be below the cap or have a trade exception to use.
The first thing that jumps out at me is the post is from BTM. If you want to be taken seriously, then begin acting like a Rocket fan. Otherwise, your trollism is all I will acknowledge.
Bradley was just a name thrown out. My source told me it would be to clear up the glut of bigmen that the Raptors have, meaning it would have to be one of those 3. Yogi Stewart is untradable and injured and Keon Clark is worth more than Mooch. It would make a lot of sense if something like Montross/Skinner for Mooch/2nd Rounder were to happen. The Raptors have a young C(Mamadou N'Diaye) who really impressed and Montross is taking his roster spot. Guys, Montross isn't that bad. He's 7' 270 and CHEAP(like 2mil/yr). Is he really any worse than Todd McCulluch or Jelani McCoy? I don't think so. He'd be better than Cato because at least he's a nice guy and shows up in shape. I believe rookies can't be traded until a certain point. That would pretty much rule him out. My source? Can't... sorry. If I name him, he might find out and then I'd be f*cked for any info in the future. Never know if some jerk will e-mail him about it. He's a member of the Toronto media, I'll say that. Behad, grow up. Are you infatuated with me? With people like you on this board, I definetly won't name my sources.
Excellent analysis crispee. Very easy to read, even for those of us who don't actively follow the minute details of the CBA.
Yes, yes I am infatuated with you. I follow you everywhere. I'm a 16 year old stalker who just got my license, so I'm driving up to Toronto to rat out your "source".
HAHA! Behad! I saw it was BTM's post and I was ready to completely disregard, but felt guilty. Thank god crispee did my job for me!
*sigh* I'm worried about people e-mailing him. You know, electronic mail? If a trade goes down, crow pie for everyone. Behad, gimme a kiss.
Um....the same Keon Clark who's facing the wrath of the Toronto management for only playing golf this summer (and the summer before that, and the summer before that, and......). I still don't get why you're infatuated with the guy. Watching his "potential" for those years in Denver was frustrating as hell. You b**** about Cato, but man, just wait if you got Clark. <a href="http://www.globeandmail.com/servlet/RTGAMArticleHTMLTemplate/C/20011001/wkeon?hub=sportsBN&tf=tgam/realtime/fullstory_Spt.html&cf=tgam/realtime/config-neutral&vg=BigAdVariableGenerator&slug=wkeon&date=20011001&archive=RTGAM&site=Sports&ad_page_name=breakingnews-sports">Wilkens Expects More From Clark</a>.
Behad: I put quotes around arrogance and gave you some "faces". I'm just glad to see someone else get razzed by you because God knows you've razzed me enough!
Trust me, Keon is turning heads at the Toronto camp. I have a dish so I get TSN from Canada and I saw a piece where it said Keon was doing amazing and he's impressing all his teammates, especially Hakeem. Hakeem said he was extremely talented. Behad, you've been posting here for WAAAAAAAAAY too long. How many Cokes or Kool-aid packets have you gone through in your years of posting here?
