Wow, I've heard rumors on ESPN Radio that there could be a huge deal going down between Oakland and Detroit.

    Raiders would get
    #6 overall pick 2004
    2nd round pick 2004

    Lions would get
    Charles Woodson
    2nd round pick in 2005

Only Matt Millen would be idiot enough to do this deal. I would hate to see Woodson go, but acquiring four 1-2 picks in this years draft would make me go ape****.

With that many picks in this deep of a draft it would be impossible even for an old senile man like Al Davis to screw up.

Larry Fitzgerland and Sean Taylor, Ben Roethlisberger and Mike Williams, Chad Lavalais and Teddy Lehman, Michael Boulware and Ricarco Colclough

    oooooooo

    must...

    find....

    towel...

(I know this rumor will be denied in the morning, but let me sleep and dream nice dreams damnit)

Why would Detroit give up the #6 pick for a CB? There are at least 2 very good CB that are UFA (Springs, A. Wingfield). I would overpay for an UFA rather than giving up the #6 overall pick for Woodson (and to be clear I think Charles is a better cover corner than Springs and Wingfield but giving up a #6 pick is alot)

I heard this too. I love Woodson but if they get #6 (Sean Taylor, please) and a second rounder, this is a great deal for Oakland.

is woodson dog meat now or something?

seriously all it seems like it is that the lions are taking woodson with their #6 pick and delaying their 2nd rounder till next year.

i guess i thought taking woodson with a #6 pick is pretty good.

Lions would never do that, they wouldn't even trade their 1st rounder for Champ Bailey, and there are plenty of good CBs in Free Agency.

Woodsen is normally worth a 6th pick (remember the teams trade 2nd rounders over 2 years, no big difference there) except in the NFL rookie salaries are king.

There are also the two Iggles corners to go after probably w/o having to give up anything.

BTW Larry Fitz will not be around for the 6th pick. Mike Williams and/or Roy Williams, probably, Taylor, Roethlisberger and Lehman, very probably, but not Fitzgerald. You have to be top 3 to have any chance at him.

Yes, I know this... The Deal (If it would have gone down) only has us giving up a 2nd rounder next year plus Woodson, So we could have picks #2 and #6

I heard a rumor that Washington and Denver were swapping Champ Bailey and Clinton Portis. Maybe someone can confirm this. However, maybe they are waiting until draft day to announce it, because it's impossible to find any info on it.

It is not a rumor, and we have a thread on it, probably on the 2nd page.

I won't type out the text; I'll let you click on the link instead.

Meanwhile, I hope and pray to God that Sean Taylor does not wind up on the Raiders. It is bad enough that one of my former Canes in Phillip Buchanon is on there, please don't make it two!!:( :p

I was just kidding with A-train. You couldn't swing a dead cat without hitting a Redskins-Broncos trade article on ESPN the last week and a half or so. "breaking news- Bailey's wife checking out Denver area hair salons" and such.

Too bad the Texans pick tenth. I would like to see Taylor on the Texans.
    alliteration..

Don't the lions have two above average corners already?

I guess Woodson is worth it, since he's not even in his prime.. but this draft is pretty loaded with talent.
