I don't even want to imagine that nightmare.... this is from David Aldridge in the Philly Inquirer.

    Wow.

With James playing for Dallas, that would make the Houston/Dallas games a bit more interesting....

Ouch! That would really hurt to see Mike James go there (at a minimum several times a year). The sad part is Dallas allegedly doesn't even think highly of M. Daniels and James would be a perfect fit for the Mavericks. Ugh!

help me out...why would mike james be perfect for the mavs?

they have terry. they have lots of guys who need shots..who need the ball. they have 3 legit scoring options and stackhouse comes off the bench. where would james fit in?

Thats what happens when your hole cards are a 2 of spades and a 7 of diamonds, you don't win many hands. The Rox don't have anybody to trade. I hope this is a rumor because MJ playing with Dallas would be a nightmare.

Does this mean Jason Terry is gone? Why would the Mavs needs Mike James, Jason Terry AND Devin Harris?

How in the world can Dallas trade less for more again and again?

Daniels could barely see the floor during the playoffs and now they could trade him for James?

    oooh I'm so scared.

MJ would really be out for revenge against us in those 5 minutes per game he'd be playing with dallas.

On the plus side, Dirk may see the ball only half as much when James is in... :D

The good news is that James is unrestricted and Marquis Daniels only makes ~300K more than the MLE.

Jason Terry is coming off a $7.5m contract year. Hard to imagine Cuban letting him walk or cap favorable ATL, CHA and CHI being all that interested in Terry.

Play in the city your wife is from, in a system you already know and dual with Rafer Alston for PT. Or, go to DAL where they've somewhat embarrassed themselves and fight for PT with Jason Terry and Devon Harris. The former sounds more desirable but I'm admittedly prejudiced on this topic.

This move kind of leaves Dallas a little thin at the swing positions with only Howard and Stackhouse. I could see them maybe looking to move Harris for someone like Josh Childress or Mickael Pietrus.

Mike James is the square peg to Dallas' round hole.

Hard to imagine MJ taking $300k instead of minutes, unless he envisions himself pushing Dallas over the hump.

Daniels would be a top 6th man, or starter on most other teams (esp. Houston). Its more a testament to the Mavs depth, rather than his skill-set.

Is there really any doubt that he thinks he can push Dallas over the top?

I would absolutely hate it if that happens. Come back home, MJ, come back home :(

He won't. He'll take 11-13 shots a game, meaning 11-13 less shots for Terry (if he re-signs) or Nowitzki.

Mike James has to be the single most overrated player in the history of ClutchFans.

That would be a nightmare for Rockets fans to see James go to Dallas. I am counting on James coming here this summer. And to see him go to a rival? The rich get richer.

Damn it, aside from Tmac/Yao we need some quality starters in Houston!

GATER, you make good points on why James would want to come to Houston. To me the Mavs would have to sign James to a much bigger contract to get him motivated to go there if his alternative is Houston with the FULL MLE.

I they get James, Terry is as good as gone. It just wouldn't make sense. You don't pick up a fringe all-star player to back up somebody.

God I would hate that. I don't know about how they'll divvy up the playing time (maybe they'll just let Terry walk because James' penetration skills and aggressive attitude are something Dallas could really use), but I would hate seeing James go to Dallas and eat Rafer's lunch 4 times a year. That was ****ing embarrassing how they matched-up this past year.

We need to do that Juwan + #8 for #5 deal with Atlanta, and get a bigger TE.
