    Rumor mill

    - Shannon Brown is listed as 6-foot-4 and Gibson, the Cavaliers' second-round pick, is listed as 6-2. But when they were standing on stage Friday at a press conference, Gibson appeared to be a little taller.

    - Don't be surprised if the Cavaliers dump Damon Jones in a trade. He just doesn't fit what they are trying to do, especially if he doesn't make shots.

    - The Cavaliers' 2007 first-round pick just got traded. Phoenix drafted Kentucky point guard Rajon Rondo with the 21st-overall pick and then dealt him to Boston for a ''future'' first-rounder and forward/center Brian Grant (who will retire). The future pick formerly belonged to the Cavaliers. It's protected through No. 10 until 2011, at which time it is unprotected.

    - The Suns also drafted Spanish guard Sergio Rodriguez, the 27th-overall pick, and sent him to Portland for cash considerations. David Griffin, Suns vice president of basketball operations, said the moves saved Phoenix about $9 million.

    - Word is Houston coach Jeff Van Gundy has one more year to right the ship with the Rockets.

    - The Pacers plan to re-sign forward Peja Stojakovic. They'll only re-sign guard Freddie Jones (restricted) if they can get him cheap.

''Anyone that says it's not about money is a liar,'' agent David Bauman said.

    - The Nuggets are finding that they may not be able to trade power forward Kenyon Martin with his huge contract and bad knees.

''I think we have to operate on the assumption (Martin will) be here,'' coach George Karl said.

Nah, CD is too smart to fallf or that trap.

He will chip in Yao to dump some salary along the way. But he will insist Knicks gives back a bag of potato in the trade.

What an incredible scoop! This newspaper must have an insider source with the Rockets.

If this is the case then the Rockets should make a 100% effort to put a great team together. Bowan and Howard are our weak links and an effort should be make to package each in a trade, for example, Howard and our 2007 1st round pick for Jackson of the Pacers. We would become the best three point shooting team in the NBA. Sign Cato at the vets minimum [Mutombo is on his last legs], he would just love to play for the Rox. The shooting guard, which we need would be J.R Smith , Our 2006/2007 Team:-

    Alston, James, Frahm
    McGrady, JR Smith, Head
    Battier, Jackson, Novac
    Cato, Bogans
    Yao Ming Mutombo :)

All Rockets fans want the Rockets to succeed this year. Personally, I always gave JVG the benefit of any doubt. However, the Rudy Gay fiasco was the final straw.

JVG needs to be shown the door as soon as possible. With luck he will be gone by Christmas. We need a coach who can blend youth and experience rather than relying on some other coach to do his teaching for him, i.e. acquiring relics who know how to play but no longer have the legs and wind to follow through.

Of course JVG has one more year to right the ship. JVG is in the FINAL year of his contract. We are in "Win Now" mode. This season it's NBA Playoffs 2nd round or bust for this Rockets team and JVG. No Excuses.

Although, I love the Rockets. I am hoping the team doesn't start off too well, so we can get rid of Van Gundy. This is the only silver lining that has transpired from these recent events. Van Gundy is now under the gun and will have to produce. He won't be able to meet expectations and we can only hope Les Alexander will see this and let him go.

How about we tank this season again? This time we can get rid of JVG and also get a higher draft pick! :p

Now I find that so many Rockets fans do not like JVG. He can only teach his team to play ugly basketball without enough wins. Next season if Tmac and Yao are both healthy, Rockets will certainly achieve better result, at least second round in the playoffs, but that's not his success. He is not able to explore the players' full ability. Any other coach can lead such a team(with two all star players) make more achievements. I hate him and hope that he will be fired as early as possible.

JVG should have been gone after this last season. Injuries hurt us, but they weren't the sole reason for our horrible season. JVG just plain sucks!

I'm sick of his putting players in the doghouse and not giving them a real chance, then trading or releasing them.

I'm sick of him tiring Yao out by having him chase little guards all over the court.

I'm sick of his negativity and constant bashing of his own players in the media.

And i'm sick of his atrocious offensive scheme.
