    Comparison to Scola:

Lee is worse of defense. (though neither of them are very good)
Lee is the same on offense.
Lee is better on the boards.

Looks like a push to me. Pass.

Lee is a more versatile PF, but a bit redundant assuming Scola is resigned.

I wouldn't want to see him in OKC, that would be scary.

You know, if the Knicks strike out on free agency, Rocket can offer them some pieces in a David Lee S&T to start their rebuilding. Something like an opportunity to switch 1st round picks + Jared Jeffries' expiring contract seems a fair starting offer.

NY isn't going to S&T Lee to us. They want superstars, not Jared Jeffries back.

Can't happen ... because it would take an SnT and Knixies aren't taking back salary until after they have 'spent' their space on LBJ and Bosh er, Gay and Mike Miller?

Lee will sign with: The NJ Nyets. For lotsa rubles and rubies.

While I've only see a half dozen knicks games, I think Lee's offense is better than Scola's.

Either way, if he's the best player we can get, it's worth taking a look at. I've always thought that Scola would be an excellent 6th man. He's a great starter, don't get me wrong, but I think his energy coming off the bench would be amazing, 6th man of the year for sure.

David Lee would be a great pickup but I think his price tag is going to be too high.

It would be pretty difficult for us to acquire Lee. Right now NY is in full scale pursuit of a couple of big name free agents. If we acquired Lee, we'd have to match salary and there's no way NY wants to use up any of their precious salary cap space to make a Lee SnT happen. In fact, all of the reports say that NY is trying to dump Curry so that they can open up even more cap space.

If NY struck out on all of the big name FAs, then it's a little more likely but still a longshot. At that point Lee likely would have signed with one of the teams with cap space. If NY didn't get any big name free agents, then they'd more than likely try to resign Lee rather than trading him for whatever we'd give up.

I would love Lee on this team. He's the only reason the Knicks didn't completely fail last year. His winshare was 10 last year from a 29-win team (!). He would be the perfect complement to Yao as he is a perimeter threat and an elite rebounder. I think he has potential to be a decent weakside defender and could be serviceable on that end given the right system. He looked so horrible on defense under D'Antoni and having to play center a lot of times.

3 things to know about David Lee:

    His defense is horrendous
He never boxes out, which leads to a net negative on team rebounds for his team
While efficient, he's not a go-to scorer that can create for himself.

I'm sorry what? You don't grab 18-20 percent of rebounds by not boxing out.

I consider Lee plan G, but I doubt we will get plan A-F...
