Telfair is barely worth a 2nd round pick, I wouldn't be surprised if he plays euro ball in a few years

I can't believe the Celtics would give up #7 for Sebastian Telfair. If they do, there's hope we can swap Ryan Bowen for an additional lotto pick.

If Portland flat out takes the Celtics draft position, that's bad for Houston I think. Portland doesn't have "needs" because they need it all. They would take the best player available, just before the Rockets. So for example, if for some reason a Roy or Rudy Gay was slipping, Boston "may" pass on them for a Marcus Williams or a Randy Foye. Portland won't.

I'm just as dumbfounded as you are. We need to fudge Juwan's brain type quiz. Then maybe Ainge will give us Gerald Green for him.

Telfair is no better than Luther Head. If he’s worth the 7th pick, than #8+Head should be worth a helluva lot more than what’s been rumored.

That actually might be good. It could lead to us dealing Juwan and #8 for #4 or #7, Darius Miles, and #30, and #31. I'd do that deal in a heartbeat if we could get our man Roy. Then trade #31 and #32 to a team in the late teens, early twenties who wants out of the first round in order to draft Redick. Then pick up a long defender or power forward with the #30 pick perhaps Pittsnoggle as a shooting 4 or Bobby Jones or Hassan Adams as your Bruce Bowen defensive types.

Maybe Ainge is looking to get fired and sees this as his best shot?

I think this would help the rockets chances especially if the draft played out this way in order Bargnani, aldridge, gay, morrison, williams, foye, thomas and that leaves us with roy :)

If there's a positive, maybe this gives us an even better idea that Morey was the brains behind the Celtics operation. :)

Still, the Blazers don't really have much in the way of point guards on their roster if they move Telfair.

Dixon and Jack are combo guards, Blake is a free agent I believe and that's all they've got. So they may still be targeting Marcus Williams (just what they need, another questionable character) or Foye at 7.

On a side note, check out Dickau's history - drafted by the Kings, traded to Atlanta, traded to Portland, traded to the Warriors, traded to the Mavs, traded to the Hornets, signed by Boston, and now maybe traded again all in 4 years!

he's still very young, let's see him again in 4 or 5 years, the PGs take time to mature

Hey guys... did you see this part of that article?

"Deals that are apparently dead, don't have life or never did, according to Katz, include Houston and Atlanta swapping picks No. 5 and No. 8; Utah and Boston doing a Carlos Boozer trade that was a part of a larger package with Philadelphia, with Allen Iverson going to the Celtics; and Chicago shipping Tyson Chandler to Phoenix in a Shawn Marion deal."

I am hoping we can get Roy/Gay anyway with the no 8 pick.. with Foye, Williams and Williams moving up...

This is how we can see it:

At first I thought the TWolves decided to select Foye at #6. McHale and Ainge are old buds and, despite having their own teams to run, watched all those guards playing (Foye, Rondo, et al) and McHale said, "Sorry, bud, if Foye is there, I'm taking him."

So Ainge gets back on the phone with Portland, a team desperate for lotto picks, because he has no love for the rest of the crop, and, what's more, can probably get a future #1 from Portland to boot.

Who knows? Portland might be getting top 10 picks to trade up for Morrison if Hometown 'Stache doesn't drop to them.
