    RUDYS GONE CRAZY!!!

Before you read this, let me say that each of us has a right to express our opinions and you should respect that, and you should not bash others because of what they have to say.

After watching the last game against the spurs on Telemundo( I live in IL) I was furious!!!Angry!!about to go crazy!!!

    A question...

    1. Why did rudy take out Yao in the 3rd Quarter right when you sensed that the group of guys with yao at center was making a run. Yao was dominating both Duncan and Robinson and then for some stupid reason rudy takes Yao out. This is ridiculous. I seriously got a head ache after watching Rudy Single handedly give the game away to the Spurs. I honestly think if Yao stayed in the whole game or most of it, we would of won. He puts him back in the forth right when its too late, see Yao works slow and he needs time to get his groove back in scoring, and you cant take him out right when hes in his groove (but he has an imediate defensive presence/difference). Did you notice how much of a Defensive Presence Yao was in the paint? Did you notice how much the spurs were scoring in the paint when yao wasnt there? Rudy please learn to do the math... As humans we want to think that if someting works then we want to stay with it, but I dont understand rudy and his Stupid Substitutions. They are so Random and pathetic. See, what wrong with the rockets is that there is no defenitive starting 5, and the there are no true subs who play within there roles. It seems like the subs and starters sort of mesh in together. I dont think this is good for the teams future. I mean There is an Identity porblem with this team.
In my opinion we should have these as the starting 5 players on the floor the majority of the time and we should cut moochie by the end of the season, and I also think that E.G will not grow to meet the expectations that you people have put on him, we should of kept KT.

    1. Steve Francis
    2.Cutinno Mobley
    3. Glen Rice
    4.Mo Taylor (underrated)
5.Yao Ming (Please get him the ball and more playing time, he's what 21? He doesnt need like 5 minutes of rest in between plays, hes not an old man)

Also. If i was Les Alaxander, I would have a serious talk with rudy to change his coacing tactics, other wise fire him. Its true that he has won 2 championships, and loyalty is all good but how long will that be the exuse for our loosing team? If we are a loosing team for the next 5 years will you still use that as an excuse? Its time for some change cause the Rockets are a team with Possibly the most raw talent in the NBA and what it looks like is this, there is no order or leadership role on the court for the Rockets and I believe that its the coaches responseability to tell the players how to act and what to do, otherwise what is a coach good for? What is scary is that no one has put there foot down and isnt saying something that might spark a change.

If you want something to change you have to make it change, it doesnt just change by itself.

I will sign that petition to Fire Rudy.
    A.P.

They may be pathetic but certainly not random. If you watched enough Rockets games, you would know the pattern. :)

Why was MoTaylor in the game at the end when Duncan was killing us on the offensive glass. Could he have put E.G. or Cato in for rebounding and defense? Rudy does this though, his rotation is set and a player has to go 0 for 20 before Rudy breaks his rotation. He is poor at game time adjustments.

I agree, he doesn't seem to make matchups work in the Rox benefit most of the time... confusing. Sometimes I think a kid off the street could make better decisions than Rudy... then again... come on Rudy take us to the playoffs! Then win the championship five consecutive times. ;)

The name that you have chosen to post under speaks volumes about the way you think. Yao is a good rookie who averages 13ppg he is not Michael Jordan. Yao will be damn good, but he has to develop. Rudy has to carry this team right now by making good decisions for the team, talking to the players about what he wants from them and distributing playing time. One game against the Spurs with Yao playing 48 minutes could wear him out mentally and physically for a long stretch of the season.

Um, are you new to the concept of bulletin boards or something?

Starting a thread by telling everyone they are naughty for bashing each other's opinion is the quickest way to get...well...bashed. If you don't want to be challenged on your opinion, you shouldn't bother posting.

Besides, you should fully expect to get hammered when you slam the team, oh, except for Yao, under the monniker yahooforyao. Not exactly a way to win friends and influence people.

    Just a thought.

A lot of people have been questioning why Yao went out in the 3rd, but from what I could tell, he probably checked himself out. On the play before he left, he was sucking wind so hard, I had hard time getting air up here in NY. Dude was exhausted, that's why he went out. Even Rudy's not that dumb. ;)

To be fair, it wasn't that Rudy was deciding that Yao wasn't playing well.

He seems to have fairly rote sub patterns, and doesn't change them regardless of how we're playing.

I don't like how Rudy does this (in fact, I find it bizarre)... but his taking Yao out wasn't a strategic decision.

Yao is no old man, but Yao do get fatigue quite fast..... just the matter of time and rest till he get use to the intensity of NBA..... remember, he dun even need to jump to grab rebounds last time....

though I must say taking Yao out during a run is not the thing to do.... if u must take him out, just let him rest for like 3 minutes or so.... it should be good to let him run on the floor again after that....

on defense, our 4 just plain sucks....though once in a while MoT or EG can hold their ground, but more often then not, they are beaten..... can't we run more YAO & Cato at the 5 & 4? that give us a strong defensive presence inside, and Yao wun need to go over to help EG and leave his own man open to score.....

well..... it is RUdy afterall..... he need to be mean to his player..... all of those Steve, Mobley sucks thread, well, they need a coach to teach them.... they wun learn if there are no coach to teach them.... and as far as I am concern, our coaches don't seems to do their job properly......

facts : our players don't seems to improve throughout this few season....

Yao Ming played the whole second half at the game vs Pacers. He gained 11 points at the 4th quarter. And Rockets won that game.

At the post game interview by Yang Yi, Ming said,"It's a little strange but I didn't feel exhausted at the end of the game. The more I played on the court the more I felt powerful. It's like I had overcome a physical peak during the game and I gained my second wind in the 4th quarter. I felt very good on the court."

I want to see he plays another whole second half and look what will happen. (Pacers game is the only time that Ming played the entire second half) From what he said in the interview, he likes the idea to play more on the court and he feels very good about his physical status when he plays more time.

Rudy is just stuck with his substitution patterns, taking out Yao at the end of the first quarter and not letting him back in until about 5 minutes left in the first half. Also taking him out in the third quarter and not letting him back in until 5 minutes left in the game.

When Yao is in the game, the Rockets are losing most of the time (because the Rockets just suck) but when Yao comes back in the 4th quarter the Rockets are usually losing by even a greater margin.

I wish Rudy would just be more flexible in his substitution patterns and just go with the flow of the game for all players not just Yao. Why is Cuttino in the game so much, especially since he is not shooting well. Cuttino always gets the most minutes regardless of how he is doing.

My favorite picture of Rudy is when the Rockets are in the process of getting blown out and the tv camera will point to Rudy and he just has the deer in the headlights look on his face while chomping away at his gum. He looks as if he doesn't have a clue of what is going on or what to do. These are just classic moments that we have all become accustomed with.

I think Rudy's substitution patterns are ridiculously predictable. In chat, we all KNOW without even seeing the game when he will take Yao out and when he will put him back in. Rudy acts like a machine, as if he wasn't even adjusting to the flow of the game at all. You know Yao will be taken out during the third quarter and will go in exactly six minutes before the game is over.

Moreover, I think Rudy is not doing a good job AT ALL of building Yao's confidence and getting him into a rhythm by constantly saying Yao is tired blablabla and not playing him more minutes. Yao should play 35-40 minutes unless he is in major foul trouble, period. And Yao should definitely not be put on the bench when he is just having a good run. I agree with windandsea, let Yao play the whole second half and see what happens. Stop taking him out of his rhythm.

this is dumb Rudy's pattern, he did this over and over again, regardless the situation on the court. He rotates players by his little timing machine by SEIKO. Never saw a people so dumb, paranoid and stupid.

Yes, your right Yao is no Michael Jordan and Yao has to develop, but he sure was dominating against Robinson and Duncan, Can we agree on that? Your not getting my point. My point was that Yao was in a good rhythem and he was scoring and you could almost predict yao getting the ball on the next play and scoring. It doesnt matter who you are. Even if your Michael Jordan, Moochie Norris, whom ever it is, if your in a rhythem and you score a certain amount of point consistently in a period of time and the defense isnt stopping you, you want to stay in the game and keep playing. This is common sense. For Rudy to take him out is just foolish.

And You said that One game against the Spurs with yao playing 48 minutes could wear him out mentally and physically...
How do you know that he will wear out mentally?? Do you have a perception of yao that he is weak?
    - Yao is 22 years old, even though he gets winded, he should be in there playing a lot more time because he is in the prime of his youth, and I know he gets winded, but he needs to build up his endurance and if what your suggesting is correct then as time progresses and as he gets older, and as his body ages he wont be able to play any minutes, at the rate that you have put on him.
He should be in there playing most of the 3rd and forth Quarter at least, because those are the last 2 quarters to decide the game.
Ok, give him some rest before the 1st half so that he can rest during half time too, but let him play the majority of the 2nd for the sake of the team.

Yao wears out at some point in most games and becomes less effective when he does. Rudy bases he decisions on stats and years of coaching experience. You base your opinion on one game and being a Yao lover. If yao started playing pathetic because of exhaustion, who would you blame then. Certainly not Yao.

    No disrespect,
    but...
I never said they were naughty, and i never meant to offend anyone. All i meant is that I have an oppinion and people should respect it, and you and any one else has the right to voice there own oppinions too, even if it contrasts it. Just keep it at a mature level. There is a difference between calling someone stupid because of what they said and countering there oppinion, and if he is wrong with correcting them.

I never slammed the team. I just question Rudys decision making
If i cant question rudys decision making what good is a thread good for??? I love the Rockets and i've been a fan for over 8 yrs, otherwise i wouldnt be here, and I am giving constructive critism, not destructive criticism.

Yes, i base my oppinon on the obvious. Maybe you just dont see it. He shouldnt of been taken out of the 3rd quarter. When he was scoring points consistently and he was the key to the defense and the offense of that team during that period of time.

Yes, if rudy has based his decision making skills on years of coaching, then he should be aware that he shouldnt of taken Yao out in the 3rd quarter of that game. Every one should respect him for his many years, but you have to take into consideration about what he did, and how long are you going to let that be the excuse? So what do you think, If Yao was in a situation and playing well and scoring on a 8-0 run would you do you think Rudy should take Yao out?
