Without a doubt, Rudy out-coached Popovich in the second half. Did Popovich forget that he has Duncan and Robinson on his team ... and that we
have NO ONE to defend them ?? Down by 8 in the fourth, Popovich wakes up and scores on almost every possession when the ball goes to
Duncan. Hopefully Popovich will experience similar sleeping attacks when we meet the Spurs in the playoffs.

BTW, how about those Spurs announcers ?! What a couple of turds. I can't figure out which happened more :

    1) David Robinson committing a lane violation on a free throw
    2) Spurs announcers alternately bagging on the Rockets and the refs

Thank you, thank you, thank you!! I was mentioning this in the chat .... these were the worst two announcers I've seen this year. Who was that play-by-play guy? Anyone know his name?

    Dude was a SERIOUS jackass.

Joel Meyers (play by play) and John McCloud (color).

Wasn't McCloud a former coach at Notre Dame?

I had to suffer thru the spurs announcers. How boring they are! And they whine more than Mobley. Everytime the Cato, Thomas or Mo went up for a rebound one of the spurs had his fore arm burried in their back but we never got one of those calls. And yet the spurs announcers complained after every single play about some missed call against the spurs. God I wish I could have heard Bill and Calvin tonight!

I never caught their names but if John Mcloud is one of them he couched the Mavs (after Richie Otoboto sp?)and the Irish.

Even more biased than our Gene Peterson? Imagine what Spurs fans would be saying about Gene if they had to listen to him during a loss. Wow.

But Gene is not on a Nation Wide Broadcast that is veiwed around the whole country. His audience is primarily all Rockets Fans.

I thought I couldn't hear worse announcing than what I have heard from the Jazz announcers. I was wrong.
This was the first time all season I used my mute button during a Rockets game. I put on some music, and didn't mind the 20 point thrashing that was being received at the time. I had to suffer through it in the third and fourth quarters though, because I wanted to hear the great Rocket crowd.

Damnit, if I've said it once on this BBS, I've said it a thousand times . . .

THE SPURS HAVE THE WORST COMMENTATORS IN THE LEAGUE

they are really, really horrible . . . boring, stupid, boring, biased, boring, unknoledgable, boring . . .

Thank GOD I was in Houston this weekend so I got to hear Bill and Calvin.

The Spurms' announcers for home & road game alike are bumbling fools. I wouldn't be shocked to hear that they were bedding down with Duncan and Robinson (the great letdown). Many of the home games are called by a buffoon named Greg Papa, and everybody's favorite, P.J. Carlesimo! Their radio guy is cool, though. In my opinion, Calvin & Bill are the best play-by-play duo in the NBA. Energetic and best of all, for the most part, unbiased. Rocks forever!

The thing that killed me about these guys is twice Steve Francis was called questionably for charging violations... had he not dropped his shoulder on both occasions it would have been a CLEAR blocking foul on both accounts.

But the announcers kept PRAISING to the Nth degree Avery and I think Derek Anderson for beautiful defense and that Francis was definitely charging.

Then late in the fourth when Cato drew that great charge on Duncan, that clown Myers screams, "OH MY what a flop!". Just screamed for a good minute about how Duncan did absolutely nothing wrong at all and Cato wasn't touched...

That's when I knew these two clowns were idiots.

It wasn't Anderson, it was Terry Porter.

Don't forget how they kept insisting Francis and Moochie take too many steps.

Or how the "Play of the Game" was Duncan's short hook that cut the Rockets lead to 2pts @ 99-97

Not the Mobley jumper that extended the lead to 4, or the Francis rebound that sealed the game.

    They are such insistent homers.
