I listened to the show. I don't think Rudy is satisfied with EG's progress but he tried to say it in a positive way. "3 guys in the same position...not a healthy thing...He struggled a bit...Well, the good news is....blah, blah". And he basically had no answer to EG's lack of intensity and changed the subject to the Westside practice they had earlier today. I think the problem with EG is more profound. Rudy only complemented for his outstanding defense as a PF. But in general, I think Rudy expects more from him. There is a possibility EG could be traded because of lack of progress. I think that caller really asked a tough question.

eg's lack of progress? why do i still hear all this eddie is far behind and has shown nothing bs? people expect way too much out of him way too soon. for his age and the way he's been worked into the offense i think he's improved at a good rate. he's probably the most talented shotblocker and rebounder on the team but he doesn't have the bulk yet to pound 40+minutes. however at 20 years old you don't need more than one hand to count the players better at the same age. he's better right now than both kwame brown and tyson chandler the top 2 picks in his draft and neither of those teams are itching to give them away. eddie is not going anywhere anytime soon and it's even more obvious considering we just traded kenny. don't confuse his lack of emotion with his intensity because it's different things.
as far as this iso offense question they asked rudy, i can't remember the last time i saw our traditional clear out for cuttino or steve. other than some really bad fg% games i've been very impressed with how fast the team has picked up the "motion" offense and the use of yao to start their sets. think about that just over a month ago this was a heavily back-court dominated offense. it's also a credit to yao's abilities. of course there are times when steve or cat will go one on one but not one team in the league doesn't take advantage of their superstars individual talents. i watched the orlando-detroit game on christmas and saw more "iso's" with darrell armstrong and tmac than in any one rockets game this year other than the opener.
Can you kindly discus here the answer of coach rudy to what he is doing with Yao's lifting and strenth training ? Also why its hard for team to stay from Isolation. Thank you

What is the nature of this team then? Are we building for two years from now? If so why is Rice playing ahead of Nachbar and Morris? Rice teaches these guys nothing by example. He plays no D and doesn't move on offense or rebound. Likewise Taylor. Play EG and TMo and let Taylor earn his minutes, if he can. I bet if MoT has to play his way off the bench that he would beg for a trade and maybe even restructure his contract to make that happen. Maybe he gets another case of the flu for five games. Same with Moochie. Bring back Brown and get him and Maddox some minutes. I bet Norris starts playing better, if he can. If we are just going to see what happens as far as getting into the playoffs then let's get the youngs guys some experience. Taylor and Rice are not going to help us advance in the playoffs unless a miracle happens in both of their games. Play the new guys and lets's have some fun. Stop killing the fans with Taylor, Rice and Norris!
