Intro, Andre Miller Call, "Have you ever seen anything like that?"

"Was it an off night for the defense, or were the Clippers shooting well?"

13:45 "Why is Mo Taylor not starting?"

Yao screening once, then screening a second time freeing a shooter for a three. Is that something you've been working on with Yao in practice?

27:00 Steve's plays at the end of the game. Mo and the J. Yao and his adjustments to the refs and the calls they do/don't make on some of the more physical plays.

How much leeway is there between mauling and acceptable defensive position?

What is going to happen with Yao this summer?

32:35 "If you were to get in a playoff series against the Dallas Mavericks, what sort of adjustments would you make? What about during the series?"

37:00 "Why did you use a first round pick on a guy that doesn't even play?"

39:00 Mike in Dairy Ashford: "Talk about Cazzie Russell passing away."

47:10 "What do you think about zone defenses, and how do they change a game."

51:45 "How can your guys make comments to the papers about the Dallas Mavericks when you respect that team so much."

What about Chicago tommorow night? Phoenix? What about if Phoenix loses tonight and you are back controlling your own destiny?

Thanks again. I know that when I listen to Rudy T he just sounds so calm and knowledgeable, it is reassuring.

Interesting points to me. Definitely thinks Nacbar has a good future, but he is more of a runner and not as good a shooter as some of the top Eruos.

Seemed to think highly of Tito, too.

Had surprisinly harsh words for the comments of the Rockets that they were actually better than the Mavericks after being beaten decisievely by them. He called this 'ridiculous" and " I couldn't believe those comments"

13:45 "Why is Mo Taylor not starting?"

Rudy: He's good enough, valid point, Taylor is better off the bench..when he comes in he is usually the primary offense guy as opposed to if he was the starter..Taylor is a comfort to Rudy knowing he can come off the bench. Mo works well with Rice. He IS getting starter minutes..and he is finishing games..similiar to Sam Cassell..the bench needs reliable scoring.

Yao screening once, then screening a second time freeing a shooter for a three. Is that something you've been working on with Yao in practice?

Rudy: Rice did it on his own the first time..they have worked on it in practice. The defense allowed it by overplaying the next time..Rice came up clutch ti make the shots

27:00 Steve's plays at the end of the game. Mo and the Jumphook.. Yao and his adjustments to the refs and the calls they do/don't make on some of the more physical plays.

Rudy: Yao is learning to accept the way the NBA is..Yao actually thought the NBA would be more physical..Yao is cool under pressure..discussion of how far a defender can go to defend Yao..
Yao needs more upper body to defend this..Yao mentions that he will be tired after this summers international play because China has rehired the old Olympic coach

What is going to happen with Yao this summer?

Rudy: doesn't know how much he will see Yao..sounds like it is out of his hands.

32:35 "If you were to get in a playoff series against the Dallas Mavericks, what sort of adjustments would you make? What about during the series?"

Rudy: Analyze their offense and players..breakdown the player tendencies..look at things that have worked in the past..more time to prepare in the playoffs..referred to the past in the playoffs when the ROX beat the Spurs in the playoffs but had lost the season series.. work on zone offense..try to work on beating zone defense.

37:00 "Why did you use a first round pick on a guy that doesn't even play?"

Rudy: He is young.. we like him..we got a lot of youth..good future..nice runner..pretty good shot..could be better..tough for young guys..needs work on defense..he has shown potential in practice..Nachbar and Tito are working hard..he is going to have an important summer..last summer his injury hurt his development.

47:10 "What do you think about zone defenses, and how do they change a game."

Rudy: Zone takes time off clock...makes for less possessions...takes more time to develop offense..scoring in general is affected..teams are adjusting better to it..Yao helps the Rox zone defense..creates mismatches in lineups sometimes..

51:45 "How can your guys make comments to the papers about the Dallas Mavericks when you respect that team so much."

Rudy: just egos being hurt..competitive spirit..Rudy was shocked to hear these comments..Rudy respects this team.

What about Chicago tommorow night? Phoenix? What about if Phoenix loses tonight and you are back controlling your own destiny?

Rudy: Doesn't mind looking at the standings here and there.. it makes for a playoff atmosphere...brings importance to the games..Rox need to know where they stand..playing with a sense of urgency.

Granville, I just got here to read what you posted. THANKS! I really appreciate your post!

Interesting comments on Nachbar. You have to wonder just how much that SUMMER injury hurt his game? Sounds like that is something that help Nachbar back but you have to wonder about that.

Not surprised about the Mo Taylor comments. It is obvious that Rudy likes him off the bench ala Sam Cassell when he was here with Kenny Smith. Because of this I don't see the team taking Griffin out of the starting lineup. Just doesn't look like it will happen folks!
