I hope this is how the rest of the organization feels about the uncertainty of the Rockets' future in Houston:

Rockets coach Rudy Tomjanovich has long been a visible supporter of other Houston teams. That includes Houston's own Tennessee Titans.

Tomjanovich said he would like to see the former Oilers win the Super Bowl on Sunday and not just because a Titans victory could become a Rockets win of sorts.

"I'm pulling for those guys," Tomjanovich said. "I hate that those guys got away. I don't know all the issues and all that, but the bottom line is they're not here and we don't have that enjoyment."

Told the Titans' success in Nashville could serve as a reminder to never let your teams get away, Tomjanovich said: "I like that. I sure the hell don't want to go away.

"To me this is more than coaching a basketball team. We saw that whole rebirth of basketball in Texas. When we first came down here, that was just something else people did. To win championships, and then San Antonio last year, Texas is a basketball state."

This was in today's Chronicle. Even though I'm not rooting for the Titans, if I believed that them winning would have a positive impact on the Rockets' future in Houston, I would personally prepare a 5 course meal for Butt Adams, trim his toupee, and paint my body in Titan colors.

That being said, Go Rams!! (I'm not convinced a Titan win will change the minds of Houston voters.)

Is it any coincidence that we are the only team mentioned in the national anthem?

    I didn't think so!

At least he didn't make any references to Cousin Larry or Uncle Joe in the backwoods....

Apparently the Rockets winning two championships hasn't swayed the voters, so why would it matter if the Titans did?

They people I know who voted against the referendum are such fair-weather fans. They make me so angry with comments like:

"Who cares about the Rockets? They haven't won anything since'95."

They say this **** like they honestly expected the Rockets to win EVERY SINGLE YEAR. they completely ignore the fact that we've been to the playoffs every year for the last million years or however long its been (every year since, what, '92?). They also ignore the Rockets and Les' continued efforts to win with bringing in Clyde, Barkley, Pippen, trading for Francis, etc.

    and my favorite:

"The Rockets don't do anything for the community."

When I mentioned the Fanny May foundation, they said the only reason they did that was as a tax write-off. NEWSFLASH--- any charity thing is a tax write-off!!! The Rockets just can't win with these people.

I hate these people and here is why:

    1. They ignore the positives of the Rocket organization and their continued efforts to win.
    2. They expect to Rockets to give to the community while at the same time as a community, we give nothing to the Rockets.
    3. When the Rockets do give, to hell with them because its nothing but a tax write-off anyway.

I don't understand the vote-against side of the argument at all. The referendum was a good referendum. If you want to keep a team in town, you're going to have to shell out some damn money.
