Yeah, yeah, yeah- and so is #30 draft pick Gilbert Arenas- gee, how many teams could have had him?? Really, do some of you have nothing better to do than whip out "Well, if we would have...?" scenarios? How come it's always the same people who can't be frickin happy even when the team's doing well? OK, Ross, whatever.
hey people, you cannot only compare stat and say we should have drafted who and who. You should actually watch them play within the team. Obviously, given the current situation, we are better of with Battier. Do you really want to wait for potential when T-Mac's back was a concern back then?
This isn't a David Carr vs Vince Young deal. Both Gay and Battier are playing well right now. For now the trade is about even with maybe a slight edge going to Houston. Memphis will look better and better once Gay matures and it may end up being a pretty lopsided trade before it's all done in favor of Memphis. Gay definately has more upside at this point.
As if shane did not contribute on defence As if shane did not hit those threes as if shane did not take those charges as if we are not winning as if the Grizzlies are winning
he could have scored 40 in his last 3 games and i still would have taken battier everyday of the week. this thread is pointless especially now.
the what if's and could of would of should of's in life are nothing more than a waste of time. everything happens for a reason and the sooner we can all get that in our heads especially about the draft day trade the better. i guarantee you though that our record is not what it is right now without battier
they went in to the playoff a few years after. from 23 win to the play off within 2 years is not bad.
so you know they're not making the playoffs in the future? they did lose their franchise player the first two months of the season. if you are comparing a sixth year's player's production to a 20 year old rookie's, you're behind the eight ball already.
L 14 W 40 0.259 I don't know, may be they are. they went in to the play off last year as 8th seed when we dropped in to the lottery. this year is the other way around. shane left the grizzlies during the off season. coincidence???
why still clamor for TMac Lite when we have the real deal? Rudy Gay is talented, but having him and TMac together is redundant, that's probably why he was never seriously considered by the Rockets. The barometer is not between Rudy Gay and Battier, it's if Gay ever becomes as good as TMac because that's what the Rockets were betting against.
Because if not, then someone should start a thread everytime Ronnie Brewer, Rodney Carney, Sergio Rodriguez, Jordan Farmar, Marcus Williams, or anyone else drafted below the 8th pick has a few good games because the Rox could have had anyone of them. I think people are saying, the trade wasnt Battier for Gay/Swift, it was Battier for whoever Memphis wanted/Swift.
They're playing uptempo in Memphis He's useless in halfcourt execution basketball. Could he better than Battier in 2 years? Yes. That doesn't matter though, because after 2 good years he will be a free agent likely to get max money. If the Rockets have the money to sign a free agent in 2010, they can sign anybody
people need to go back to the last game we played with Memphis and watch Tmac just play around with Gay. We don't need him. We already have a matured version of Gay x10. We weren't gonna keep him anyways and besides.. if we had him now.. that's less touches for Tmac and Yao... and do we really want that? NO. We need the intangibles and Gay doesn't have any. (right now).
I think you're missing the point. most fans including myself never thought the rockets had a shot at gay. so its not anyone who fell below eight. its a guy the rockets were thought to have no shot at falling into their laps.
