Per Woj. Houston Rockets rookie Royce White is reporting back to Rio Grande Valley of D-League and could play on Tuesday, sources tell Y! Sports.
I wonder whether it was the front office/agent/lawyer that has something to do with it. Man, I had such high hopes for this kid at the beginning of the season. Now after all the drama, I'm like "meh"... whatever.
If I were the RGV coaching staff, I wouldn't even speak to him. If he spoke to me, I'd listen but wouldn't speak back unless asked a direct question. If he asked me if he was going to play I'd reply with two letters, "No.". I'd leave him to himself to figure out what he's gonna do next. If he came to his senses enough to ask me what he needed to do to play, I'd tell him: 1. Apologize sincerely to the entire team and coaching staff for your behavior and conduct and admit you were wrong in what you did. Admit you were selfish and your actions were narcissistic and confess that you are going to do whatever it takes to regain their confidence. 2. Practice your 300 lb. a... off in the upcoming practices and conduct yourself as a professional at all times. 3. If you do these things and we see that you are sincere in being a part of this team we will see if an opportunity presents itself to play you. That's it. No jacking around wid dis tard. He needs to get smacked and get smacked hard and keep getting smacked until he wakes up or goes away. Zero tolerance.
The Vipers had a back-to-back over the weekend in Eire, Pa and Fort Wayne, Ind. which he missed when he left for Houston. He is returning for the last six games, all of which are at home. I hate to question Royce's motives, but it seems he prefers to only play home games.
So, was it ever determined the team doctors didn't advise him to leave in the first place? I thought that's what he said, that the team doctors, not his own, advised the move.
