Should have drafted Andrew Nicholson instead.

I think that White is full of BS when he says his the Rockets are not following advice from his own psychiatrist. Based on his tweets, it sounds like he b****ed about the Rockets to the Rox psychiatrist during their first meeting, and in the psychiatrist's efforts to allign with White and make him feel heard, the psychiatrist probably said something like, "I understand why you feel that way". White then twisted that to mean that the Rockets own psychiatrist agrees with him that the Rockets haven't been responsive to his needs.

Think about it. We are dealing with a disturbed, almost delusional guy here who wants to twists facts to fit his narrative. We should use our brains when analyzing the situation.

Royce White.. All you've successfully done is hurt the cause of the mentally ill with every damn dumb twitter post or statement you've released. As a person following the issue, I'm drained. As a fan, I'm done. I'd of never been excited for ultimately wasting a draft pick if I knew you'd hi-jack your responsibilities as a paid employee. Your own fight for the cause has blinded you from the obvious. Get cut and good riddance.

There are two questions I have that White has never answered in any forum (though I did stop following him on Twitter, his tweets came across more like a spoiled petulant child than a young man trying to handle living a life complicated by mental illness).

First, why did he forego his last year of eligibility at Iowa State? It seemed he was improving both on the court and in handling his mental illness there. Why did he throw himself into the NBA when he did not have to? Was it simply a financial decision?

Second, what requests have his doctors and he asked of the Rockets that are not being met? In all his statements-and there have been far too many-he comments on the Rockets not following the medical recommendations. It has been suggested that these recommendations include a fixed amount of playing time. Has White ever stated that? Has Morey? Can Morey even state the requests and not violate White's employee right to have his medical information be confidential?

Any sympathy I had for White's plight-of which was already taxed-is now gone due to his vulgar use of the Sandy Hook slaughter to give weight to the Rockets needing to meet to all his medical demands.

Call me a bich and everything but reading that and his tweets it really sounds like the Rockets ignore every advice and that the team doctors are on Royce's side here. He's right this time, if the team says they are supportive they shouldn't act in a way that is against the adive of their own team professionals/doctors.

EG had serious issues, but he was a good-hearted guy who never meant anyone harm.

like another brother already mentioned, this psycho comes off as scarily dangerous to those around him...

I don't think he would lie about the team doctors being on his page on this issue, he'd be a fool to lie and get exposed pretty quickly by team officials.

If we void his contract, there must be some protection where he's not allowed to sign up with any other team for 3 years. Otherwise players can refuse to play for a team, void their contract, and play for another team.

    Landry Fields for Royce White?

    Bargnani for White and Aldrich?

I think this is clearly a move towards the Rockets finally trying to get rid of White. To me it's obvious that the Rockets knew White would refuse this assignment. I'm guessing that this provides them further legal ground to void his contract. It seems clear that Morey is now getting legal with White telling him that he's legally *****ed, basically.

My previous opinion on White is that he's not hurting the Rockets, since they can afford his cap number, have an abundance of other PF options, and isn't contending. But my opinion is beginning to shift to where I don't want this guy on the team. That is, even if he goes to the DLeague eventually, play well enough to be called up, I don't want that guy sitting on the team bus with everyone else, flying together on the team plane, etc. I fear bad stuff may happen.

Also, at this point, no other team would sign him. So the risk that he succeed elsewhere is basically nil.

    And what is that advice?

If the advice was something like: "The best way to make White feel comfortable is for him to get consistent rotation minutes", are the Rockets wrong to not grant him that?

Without knowing what this advice is, we can't really pass judgment either way. The fact that White isn't forthcoming about it makes me think its something most fans would roll their eyes at.

Not really. Patient-Dr. discussions are confidential so it's not like those discussions are going to be be made public. I'm sure the Rockets and the psychiatrist have a release to discuss White's therapy progress, but there are many ways to interpret a Drs. "recommendations".

Plus, we really have to use our brain here. I'm a psychologist myself, and there is no legitimate mental health reason for why a psychiatrist would say that White shouldn't go to the D league. Zero. In fact, it is in the best interest of his mental health that he overcomes his fears and tries to do his job.
