What was the Roxs main problems last year?

    Was it the offense?
    Was it the D?
    Was it both or niether?

The reason why I ask is after looking at some stats I've come to see what I thought I aleady knew:confused: ; that the Rox where a top 5-10 type defensive team. They had a 84% winning percentage when scoring over 100 points. To me this means we need to try and score more points and turn the ball over less.

Is Van the man for that?
Is this a team right now built for that?

To me this team only needs a few adjustments to still be a good D team and a higher scoring team as well.

We need a higher fg% shooting pf with some sort of defensive and rebounding skills. This team is close to being one of those teams noone wants to play and that can do some damage in the playoffs. But we need to make a change for now and lose some of our patients waiting on this team to grow up(EG).

The best way to improve is to make as few changes as possible while upgrading chemistry, compatabilty, and talent. Don't try to trade the whole team! Does anyone have an oppinion as to the best, fastest, or stupidist (duh most stupid) way to get this done?

Eliminate the stupid 4 on 1 turnovers would be a good start.

MANAGE the shot clock better. Maybe that is why we brought in new MANAGEMENT. Not sure if Steve and/or Cat needs to go but mabey. They need to save their playground ball for the playground. What I saw last year wasnt a team out there it was a tiem. (no i in team- get it) O.K. not very funny it is 4:45 am lol
I think both Steve and Mobes can shoot 50% and that is awesome but I wanna see smarter play or I am going to cancel my league pass. (OOPS I did that during last season) In my opinion those guys (and Mooch) cost Rudy his job.

Yes. More points. I also propose that we allow the other team to score fewer.

This is the ROOT of the Rockets problems and must be the most important change that JVR makes. I am expecting JVR to take charge of the Team unlike Rudy who had Francis in control. How can you win the big prize till your Point Guard becomes a playmaker trusting all of his team-mates and the Coach is at the Helm.

TEAM BALL!! Steve must take over a leadership role of this team and play the POINT GUARD position. No more dribbling, move the ball around, involve everyone. We will be better this year.

The key for this season is that on offense, the Rox must, absolutely must, score more points than their nightly opponents. Furthermore, the focus of their defensive improvement is not locking up players on the perimeter or even shot blocking. The key for defensive success is to keep the other side from scoring more than the Rockets do.

I'm sorry, but I thought that was Rudy's job. Rudy was suppose to take the 'I' out of team. That is what cost him his job.

What does JVR stand for? Did I miss something?

Yeah....where did you get that statistic? Interesting...

Well we do have plenty of scorers...I agree. We need to be more efficient. Less turnovers...better execution....and yeah..get fast break opportunities and all the easy buckets.

    AND PLAY GREAT DEFENSE.

Our atrocious TO differential is probably the single thing that cost us the most games. Breaking it down further it is partly due to us not taking care of the ball very well (most specifically Steve really needs to become a much steadier decision making), and even more due to the fact we allow teams to get very comfortable with our defense.

To say we have a great or even good defense just based on a solid ranking (though not much different than average on objective terms) in opponents FG% is missing the big picture IMO.

And the Rockets won 90% of their games when they held their opponent under 80 points.

We won 100% when we had more points than the opponent at the end of the game.
