guess JL3 isn't ahead of the mooch in the rotation anymore. kind of a curious move...could more moves be on the horizon...????

HOUSTON – Houston Rockets General Manager Carroll Dawson today announced that G John Lucas III and F Josh Davis have been waived. Lucas posted two points, two rebounds and three assists in two games played with the Rockets. Davis saw action in one game with the team. The Rockets roster now stands at 14 players.

Too bad, JL3 doesn't look too bad at all. What is CD thinking, just because we won one game, then we don't need them any more???? Save money???? Increasingly I get the feeling owners are kind of cheap.

Wow what a surprise! I thought JL the 3rd was a good addition. Hopefully we will see some action soon.

I don't get it, I thought JLIII looked good, and we just signed him...something must be up.

    WTF!

Lucas gave us a real spark last night. I don't understand this move at all unless Barry coming back would effect anything. I know the deadline that would cause their contracts to be guaranteed for the rest of the season is coming soon. That would be the only other reason I could see this happening.

I think they had their hands on some decent talent with Lucas and Graham, only to let them go.

But, we all know the JVG's rule: Have a good game, you're gone the next day. AKA "The Jim Jackson Rule"

I don't get it!?!? The rumored trade was the Rockets sending more players than they were getting back. There wasn't a necessity of waving both players. I just hope that after the dust settles, there's room to resign JL3.

If this move was simply made because of the impending return of Jon Barry or to releave the team of contractual obligations to Lucas, I will be very disturbed. You have to always keep an eye out for the future and continually develop players because you only get 2 draft picks per year, and with the Rockets' drafting history even that rarely pans out. This is how teams like Dallas find guys like Marquis Daniels or other young gems to give their teams energy off the bench. Lucas looked like a real gem and could have been a huge boost for a roster deprived of youth and energy.

If this wasn't made to facilitate a trade, I will be very disappointed in the Rockets' braintrust on this one.

I hope we can re-sign him too. I thought he gave us a great quick point option. When him, Skip and Head were on the court at the same time I thoght it gave us a nice speed lineup. Let's see what's going to happen and then we can ask WTF? to CD.

I guess JLIII started the fast break too often for JVG's tastes...good energy player, I don't know wtf is going on.

I agree 100%. Hopefully the trade is not for another 30 something role player on the downward side of his career. The only type of player I would take in that category is a complete scorer like Stackhouse or somebody who has proven to be a huge scorer. 30 plus guys who can play huge minutes of grind it out JVG ball without injury may not exist.

Agreed. The fact that JL3 logged 12 minutes last night with Moochie sitting on the bench and the next day gets waived....says a lot about our bench. :(

To me these moves are made because some of our injured players are getting ready to come back, Barry/Anderson OR we really are getting ready to make a trade and need the roster space.
