As I have been saying all season long, Mobley does not fit into this team. They play better without him. The last two games Francis has been very impressive, turnovers are down and he seems to be getting Yao and every one else more involved. Mobley can't be and refuses to be effective without the ball. If the rockets could get a pure shooting guard like Wesley or Terry, they will make the playoffs and will become SCARY. Francis seems willing to learn, him and Yao love the game and love to compete. Mobley is a good player just not a good fit for this team. He could help a team that lacks offensive, penetrating type of players.

    Those guys are too short.

Q Richardson's STYLE of basketball is what I would like to have. What happened to him? Has he been injured?

His shot looked nice last year, assuming he works on it a lot, he can be a very good shooter/zonebuster. He also plays good D, and has the size to switch to SF sometimes.

    *********************************************************************************ing Newbies!!!!!!!!!!

Stop talking about trading Mobley, he is working for Cheap, he is doing fine, he makes his free throws, there is no one with his talent at a comparable salary... etc.etc.... True,he is not the second coming of Jesus Jordan but don't forget we won two titles with Mad Max and Mobes is a good compliment to our true superstars SF and YM. Let em' play. The real problems with our team are guys like Glen Rice and Moochie Norris who are getting paid way too much for what they do. It's all about value and Mobes is a great value player.

Mad Max, Elie etc were ROLE players....Mobley does not want to be that type of player. They need a pure shooter. A guy who plays off the ball not hog the ball like Mobley does. On a side note, a more realistic move that could really help the rockets would be to trade Moochie for some one like Tony Delk(who is a pure spot up shooter).

What type of player does Mobley want to be? Is that why he accepted a contract that was well under what he could have gotten some where else where he also probably would have gotten the ball alot more too? Mobes is a Rocket, and a baller, and a Role player. He shoots, he makes his free throws, he is one of our few conistent scorers. We should feel lucky to have him on our team. We should be pissed we spent so much money on MoT however.... do you get it newbie... and don't give me any spot up shooter bullcrap..... Mobley can shoot the damn ball

Cat's contract is $30 mil over 6 years. That's not bad, but that doesn't exactly make'em cheap either. In contrast, Brent Barry has a 6 year $27 mil contract. Personally, I'd *love* to have Brent Barry at the 2G.

If you can get someone to take Rice or someone else eating huge salary, great. Just understand that means we'll take a major downgrade in talent in exchange. Nothing in this world is free, and Cat's one of our valuable commodities.

I'm just to lazy to type!

In fact, I posted 3 times today so I got to quit.

But to comment on this thread --

The rockets should not make any trades unless some team just blows you away with an offer. If the Rockets fail to make the playoffs though... no-one is safe except Yao and Francis.

Well considering the fact that Mobley seems to NEVER pass other then to Francis tells me that he does not want to be a role player. He want's to be option #2 behind Francis, which will no longer be the case any more. Guards can't win championships or in the rockets case, even get to the playoffs. You have to have a low post game in order to compete in the West (look at the Kings, Lakers, Spurs, Blazers and Wolves). Big guys can carry a team, guards can't (refrence Kobe without shaq eqals lottery team). Most teams would imbrance Yao is a blessing, to have a big guy be able to help out in the post because it changes the whole pace and mometum of the game. Look at the Duncan, he is THE TEAM. But they are winning games, all because of him. How many teams win with just guards? NONE.

Point taken about big guys win championship. But big guys also need perimeter support. Mobley can be one great support player. You have to feel for Mobley. Last season we needed him to be our No. 1 option when he's clearly not a No. 1 option material (especially when Steve's out) and then he picked up some bad habits (like forcing shots). Then suddenly this season (after Yao emerged) he needed to change to No. 3 so it must be difficult for him to adjust now. Give him time.

Mobley refuses to pass to players besides Steve? Off the top of my head from just the last game he threw an alley oop to Posey, brick. He passed to Moochie all alone under the basket, brick. He threw an outlet to Posey for an easy dunk, blocked by Osterfat. I think the problem is not that Mobley refuses to pass, it is that there are only 3 players on the team that don't suck on offense, and 2 (Francis, Ming) of them play a style that is not conducive to assists. We have way to many people around here that say Mobley doesn't pass, my only guess is they aren't watching the games.

Has nobody noticed a change in Mobley the past couple games? From what I've noticed....He got 4 assists two games ago. He passes the ball to Yao almost everytime Yao is in the post. He's only taken 22 shots the last two games, and maybe 2 of them were wild. The only problem is he hasn't shot good. Give him a break.

And why is Terry a pure shooting guard and Mobley isn't? In my opinion, he is pretty similar to Mobley, except he's being forced to play PG.
