Rox has to watch out Denver I would expect the run for playoff next season to be as tough as this year. Spurs, Lakers, Kings and Mavs are out of reach. Twolves has edge over us after them acquire Howard and Cassell. Portland, Suns are right there with us, Jazz is unknown variable, but Denver is catching up. It is not going to be easy. I just hope we will use Yao better, EG and Nachbar shows some improvement, and Posey won't sleep on the contract he is expected to get.
Denver is just like Compt... er GoldenState. Alot of talent and potential but no one takes them serious so their own players don't ethier.
Alley-Oop I just want to say that you look to be the most promising young poster to come here in a long time. You must have been posting somewhere else before you came here. You speak the language without any accent.
Exactly what I was about to write! The players they signed are the Clippers! And not even their best players. They don't have Brand, Odom or Richardson, they have Miller, Kandi and Maggette. I see the Nuggets doing what the Clippers did last year
what's funny is that he is right. while they aren't going to be in the playoffs this season, they have a very bright future. Nene and Melo are VERY promising young forwards and Maggette has all the tools. I have never liked Miller or Kandi, but both are well above average at their position. On paper this team is headed in the right direction (although anything is better than where they have been).
exactly, they aren't going to the playoffs next year. That's my point. a few years down the road they'll be good, but not next year
I didn't say Nuggets will pass us next year or in the near future. But we will play them four times every year, and we can take them for granted any more. Well, i guess we took a lot of teams for granted this past year but end up losing to them.
the rockets lost to crappy teams last year. I'm glad denver will be more of a challenge. We actually have a chance to win
WTF? R u serious??? Denver? Even IF they sign a few of these guys it will take em a few years before they make the playoffs. You think just cause they sign a couple guys they will be a team overnight. LMAO! Give em time.
If the Rockets need to worry about Denver then they are hopeless. The Nuggets have a bright future, but they are not better than 10-11 other teams in the West.
denver is doing better than i could have given them credit for but taking a few clipper free agents doens't make them playoff contenders. in a year or 2 they might be where the rockets are NOW which is probably a realistic goal, but by that time i'm thinking or at least hoping, they won't be a team we're too worried about. maybe a first-round playoff matchup to prepare for the finals.
I don't know if anyone here paid any attention to them last year, but Denver was a scrappy team that always played hard. They were always outmatched talent-wise but stayed in games they had no business being competitive in. Don't expect Clipper underachievers to remain as underachievers with this club. Don't be so arrogant as to write them off as a bubble team. This thread ain't as crazy as you pilers-on may think.
You mean the same Golden State that was on our tail most of last season. Both of these teams have made drastic administrative and philosophiocal changes. I just hope that we can show the improvement that GS showed last year and play with the fire the Nugz did. I am optimistic about both of these attributes, given our own changes.
My feeling exactly. Bravo kiki, you can burn valuable cap room on role players like miller and maggette at inflated prices, and pray to god two of nikoloz, melo or nene become superstars because if not, the only place the nuggets are going is to a permanent place in the lottery for a long time.
