The Houston Rockets picked up the team option on the contract of guard Luther Head Wednesday. (From newswire, so sorry I can't link.) Not surprising. EDIT: Link http://www.sportsnetwork.com/default.asp?c=sportsnetwork&page=/nba/news/ACN4110347.htm
Expected, I wish they would turn on the video and watch this dude play no D and rebound with the tenacity of a fly. Yes, he hits big shots in the 4th Quarter, I thought the idea was to earn your money 1st - 4th
The topic in the offseason was titled, "Rockets Extend Head". The title got more play than the article.
it's popping up on a bunch of wires, i think what happened was that they decided to do it over the summer and then made it official today (i believe there is like a one year period that the team has to do that which expires today/tomorrow)
it was done before, i remember a morey quote that said he was worth more signed to an extension than not.
well it was not made official till today, I guess probably if he had suffered a career ending injury between the summer and the deadline to exercise the option (today) it wouldn't have been exercised.
