Next year we could have a starting lineup of Yao, Mcgrady, Alston, Bogans and Swift. The only one 30 is Alston, I like the outlook. Bogans looks solid. If we could sign another athletic swingman like Bozni Wells or Flip Murray, we will be in good shape. Hope Swift can finally fit in too.
Sarunas Jasikevicius was supposed to the the best player outside of the nba. even he couldn't crack the starting line-up of an nba team. hopefully vspan can be a nice backup to rafer. a guy who can keep the ball moving and hit some open shots. i'm not sure if stro will start next year either. until he starts to play better/ smarter defense he will be a bench player for JVG. I do like the youth movement though. with the MLE and 2 picks we can have a young athletic team, with a mix of vets (deke, jho, wesley).
My impression is that they have been trying to move JH a few times without success. I think he will be gone soon.
they had a chance to move him last season for sam cassell. what a dream trade that would've been. we needed PG help, he's an ending contract as opposed to Jho's deal that runs through the century, and he's a proven winner. we turned it down. we love Jho.
It's not only about who is best, but whose game suits NBA better. It was well known that Jasikevicius' game wasn't very NBA friendly. Manu Ginobili once was in a same situation as Jasikevicius - best player outside the NBA. He turned out alright, didn't he? I don't know V-Spans game well enough to comment on his ability, but let's not make those overly simplistic generalizations.
Hindsight = 20/20. Cassell only started a grand total of 38 games last season and averaged 25 minutes. Most NBA fans didn't think he'd be able to get back into form after his injury. Besides, Juwan was quite pivotal in our run last year to 51 games in the second half of the season. People would've been concerned about his injury. Some people would've been concerned about his shoot-first mentality...considering they were already complaining about Sura never passed the ball to Yao. As good as that trade looks now, I can guarantee that it would've had mixed reviews from Rockets fans last season.
well the youth movement continues with the trade for Lampe and Bogans and excellents vets to help the young guys. Rafer / Sura DWes / Head / DA TMac / Bogans Juwan / Stro Yao / Deke / Lampe this is pretty good positioning by the Rockets we already know Set to retire - Barry is set to retire this year and Deke plans to retire next year and we need to prepare for that. Who knows how long Sura will be able to play as he is already 33ish and his body is breaking down. Expiring contracts - Dwes / Hayes / Bowen - adding Lampe gives us another big body and a good mix of youth and experience. Next Years roster might look very different and I expect. Rafer / Bogans / Head Tmac / Stro / Hayes Yao / Lampe / Deke Im hoping we can package Dwes / JHoward / DA / RyBo for some help at PG and SF. J
Bogans and Swift in our starting lineup? If that happens, I'll be ready to jump off a tall building on opening day.
i like getting younger and more athletic because the way the rules have change it favors the more athletic teams. lampe i wonder if he'll ever amount to anything hopefully he can produce decently as a 3rd string c or a backup c i doubt he'll even touch the projections he received on draft day
