When do the Rockets have to trim their roster or place players on IR?

Today (6 et) is the last day to trim to 12 active players and no more than 3 IR players.

These are the 3 guys who are very nervous:

    Langhi
    Boseman
    Bullard

Only reason Collier isn't nervous is because he was a first round pick.

Why would Bullard be nervous? He's been on the team since 1990 and has had a decent preseason (if his job was ever in jeapordy).

As a matter of fact why would we cut anybody? We could carry up to 15 with the injured list, and have only 14 now. Boseman gets cut if anyone does, but I'd bet Rudy T finds 2 injuries among our current players.

There are only 14 players on the roster right now. So, feasibly we will only have to place 2 on IR.

I don't think Boseman's nervous, I'm sure he pretty much knows he ain't making the active roster.

The last guy will come down to one of the two rookies, IMO.

He had one good game and that was against the Pistons. He had a terrible Preseason. And besides if you have to decide between him and Langhi I would would take Langhi because he is younger more athletic and cheaper.

Yeah but did you see him blocking shots? [IMG]

Seriously, he was third in the NBA in three-point shooting percentage last year. That's good. He is one diminsional. But if we dropped Bull today, there'd be 28 other teams that would like to pick up a 6'10" guy who can shoot 45% from the arc. Bullard can help us right now as a spot player; I'm not sure Langhi is ready yet. His time will come.

Plus, it makes no sense to say a player's cheaper. They both have guaranteed contracts and we'd have to pay the guy whether we keep him on the roster or not.

I stand by my comment that we have no reason to drop anyone. If we do it will be Stais.

When i saw Boseman playing in a preseason game(forgot who it was against) he played pretty well. He made excellent defensive plays and nice passes, and compared to what Collier has done I like Boseman.

    From NBA.com:

Dan Langhi placed on injured list; Stais Boseman waived
    Rockets Set 2000-2001 Roster

HOUSTON, Oct. 30 — The Houston Rockets have set their roster for the 2000-2001 NBA season, General Manager Carroll Dawson announced. In narrowing their roster to the NBA requirement of 12 active players, the Rockets have placed forward Dan Langhi on the injured list with bilateral medial tibial periositis and waived guard Stais Boseman.

Langhi averaged 1.6 points and 0.6 rebounds in five preseason games for the Rockets. The 6-11, 220 lb. forward was acquired by the Rockets via trade from the Dallas Mavericks on June 28, 2000. He played for Houston's Rocky Mountain Revue Summer League team in Utah where he averaged a team-leading 12.8 points on 58.1 percent shooting.

Boseman saw action in three preseason games, averaging 3.7 points, 1.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists. The 6-4, 200 lb. guard was invited to Rockets training camp after an impressive performance for the Rockets entry in the Rocky Mountain Revue Summer League. Boseman averaged 7.3 points and 3.0 rebounds on 50.0 percent shooting at the Revue.

The Rockets roster now stands at 12 active players: Shandon Anderson, Matt Bullard, Kelvin Cato, Jason Collier, Steve Francis, Cuttino Mobley, "Moochie" Norris, Hakeem Olajuwon, Carlos Rogers, Maurice Taylor, Kenny Thomas and Walt Williams.
