I am not a big fan of Rudy T's style of play. However, if the Rockets shall thrive in this system, several changes need to be made. I believe that Cuttino Mobley is a good player, but he is problematic on the team since his style does not compliment Steve Francis. Instead, the Mobley and Francis tandem disrupts the Rockets offense, since both these players are great scorers. Well, some may point to Steve Nash and Michael Finely. In this case Steve Nash does not have the ability of Steve Francis. Nash is more of a true point guard, distributing the ball around without having to worry about scoring 25-30 point s a game. Thus, Francis is more suitable at the 2 guard position. I believe that Mobley--a very good 2 guard in this league--needs to be traded perhaps for a Mike Miller (although doubtful) or a Mo Peterson type of Player that compliments both Francis' and Yao's game. Maybe they could trade for a true point such as Cassel or Arenas. Even Wesley Person could be included in a deal for Mobley. The Rockets need perimeter shooting and a maximization of Francis at the 2 guard position. Until then, they will always be no better than .500.
Something needs to happen... If this same roster is here next year, it's going to be a long season... They have the potential, but I think there just one guard or forward away... The shooting and defence last night was atrocious... Besides, I couldn't let your thread be w/o comments...
