According to Page 6, Asian-Americans are fuming at "The View" host for saying that Danny DeVito's drunken antics made headlines in China that read: 'Ching chong, ching ching chong, Danny DeVito!" "The use of the distorted phrases is insulting to the Chinese and Chinese-Americans, and gives the impression that they are a group that is substandard to English-speaking people," says the Asian-American Journalists Association. But Rosie's rep thinks they just don't get it: "I certainly hope that one day they will be able to grasp her humor."
i cant stand rosie.. the last time i paid attention to anything she said was when she accused kelly rippa of embarrasing clay aiken because he was gay.... that had absolutely nothing to do with anything.. cant stand her
She'll apologize a week later, but I hope there's enough "outrage" to get that foul monster off the air.
She's said plenty of offensive things since joining The View. But apparently their ratings are solid, so I doubt O'Fat is going anywhere. Still, if there's a more annoying celebrity around, I don't know who it is.
She'll spin other people's innocent comments to make them appear anti-gay, and then chastise them for it. Then she proceeds to make blatantly racially-insensitive comments. What a hypocrite.
There has and will always be a double standard when it comes to what is actually considered racist or offensive. To me im not offended, i just think it's a tongue and cheek dumb remark to begin with. As for as her being gay, one would think she would know better, but that just proves the point im about to make. I know many people of the gay persuasion and that are prejudicial and have racial biases just as any straight person would. I've noticed many dig their own discriminatory graves by first off labeling people by straight or gay and then following this by making assumptions "oh you straight people go out on this night and do this and that...." What is the difference between that comment and someone thinking I'm good at math because my eyes are slanted? I could go on and on but what is the point. EVERYONE is biased whether you like it our not. Racism will never ever die. Our hopes lies in tolerance.
fire rosie? hell, anyone that pays attention to that fat b**** ought to be fired from life. her audience gets what they deserve.
Great quote, great post. Thanks, but the human ability to tolerate only stretches so far. The real answer is probably a balance between decreased racism and increased tolerance. ....or something answer that comes in the form of a rebuttal to this rebuttal...
